Hey Guys! That transport thing never worked out. They wanted me to wait at least 30 days before they can get a truck by TN to get the viper. And I tried at least 3 different company's!!
Well I'm flying down wed morn from Long Island , NY to TN. GPS says 11 hrs to get back. I'll let you guys know what I do it in!!!
This is gonna be fun!!! Prob taking I95 most of the way back. So if you see a red/black ACR fly by you, that's me!! 😎.

Be very careful in the cold with those sport cups. They are very slick in cold weather.

    Drive safe

Thanks guys. I plan on taking my time. Driving right thru the night. Gonna take it easy in NJ and NY. It's suppose to freeze up a night. That black ice sucks.

You guys are suppose to be getting a storm moving up the east coast, with wet snow and ice in the forecast, not a pleasant thought in a Viper.
There is no shame in pulling over for the night and waiting for the weather to co-operate!
Be safe there will be plenty of opportunity to enjoy.

I bought my 2000 RT/10 from Islip Long Island. Was ready to fly up and drive her home to Nashville. Then at the last minute got a hit from an enclosed exotic transport. Took the wife to Florida and relaxed for a few days. car was delivered the day we returned. Clean and no miles added. Well worth a grand this time of year. (Snow and freezing rain tonight)
Post your trip on a transport site and they will call you. I have been caught driving Vipers in freezing weather a few times over the years it is not fun. Congrats on the New Viper!
Good luck and take it easy,
    Steve

Should be a blast. Photograph the entire thing! Borrow a nice camera from a buddy if you don't have one. I wish thats how I would have done it.

    And drive safe!

Keep in mind rain is a big concern too, along with pavement temperature. Definitely stop if the weather is rough, even if you are not tired , as Sport Cups do not shed water well at all, and you may feel fine at 70+ in light rain, but back it down --------even at 60 there is just little water dispersement. Car is stable with the downforce , but don't push it at all in weather --- and stopping at a motel isn't bad, they always let you park a Snake under the portico!!!

You might want to delay the drive back by a day or two. Weather is going to be horrible. heavy wet snow along the 81 hwy which will take you up to the NE. Wait till Friday morning to start the drive. You will also have a lot of salt and sand on the roadway. Clean that baby completely when you get back.

Your dream trip could easily turn into a nightmare, if you drive into the storm which is currently predicted. Delay your return trip by a day or two, take your time and make sure your insurance is paid up. Good luck and be very careful!

I'm going to agree with whats been said. Don't let the new car anxiety get you into a situation that can be avoided with patience. In the unlikely event of a mishap, the best outcome will be an insurance pay out. Wait the weather out if you can. If you decide to brave it, situational awareness my friend!

    CONGRATS!!!!!!!
I hope you still get these notes from all the members they are giving you years of good advice. The cold weather with sport cups is like running on wet ice. Be very careful and give yourself plenty of time for braking.
