    MaxJax Mobile 2 Post Lift

    Does anyone have any experience and feedback on this MaxJax 2 post lift? I was looking at pulling the trigger on one; $2000 at Costco. I would like to be able to have it to the side of the garage for longer term builds and also be able to mount it in center of the garage for shorter term projects and to have more room. Gets the car 4 foot off the ground, so should be able to use a roller seat under it.

    That is pretty cool. Will it fit under the Viper? I think you will need to drive up on a couple of boards to get the arms under the jacking points.

    Spec on MaxJax site says 89mm, I just sent out and measured in the front and I had 93mm from floor to jacking point. So even if it was out a few mm, it should not be an issue.

    i was thinking about this too. Just wait and use my full size lift at the new casa in a few months.

    Here are some of the videos
    I drive the front wheels of the Viper up on a couple of short 2x6's so I can get the lift under mine, it is stock height.
    Same with my 987, my SCCA road race I dive it up on 4 2x6 and remove the lift pads and just lift it on the lift arms.


    The truck and the Prius are too tall to lift indoors, (their roofs hit the garage door opener)I can lift the Prius enough to change oil inside but not high enough to put in the high safety rods.

    Everyone likes what they like, I think it is better to take the $2000 and get a 4 post lift, more uses, park another car under the lift at the same time, lift can be moved in garage on wheels, better for long time storage of a car, 2 post lifts are not good for a car up for any longer time period, the wheels and suspension is dangling against the bushings, etc....this unit requires bolting to the floor, so if you want to move it out of the way, you have to take out the bolts (correct ??!!) also I don't like the idea of the hydraulic lines from the master power unit to the lifting arms, all over the floor, step on, drive on, and trip over when walking around, and reference to using a stool , some people pay this same amount for scissor-jacks that are really only for wheel work...just my $.02

    You miss the whole point of this lift, it is designed for people who do not have room (floor space or ceiling height)for a full size lift, (whether it be a 2 post of 4 post) they are not or were ever designed to be used for storage.

    You make some good points. I don't want a four post lift as it takes up too much space and I don't have an issue with car storage in a huge four car garage. I want to be able to move the lift totally out of the way. Yes to remove it you simply unbolt it from flush mounts in the floor. Then you can move the unit over against the wall and have your full garage space back. Once the car is in the air, you can remove the hydraulic lines with quick release fittings and get those totally out of the way. I want more clearance than the scissor jack offers and I want to be able to do more than wheel work, but surely wheel work will be done.

    Based on YOUR needs this sounds like the right solution for you. If you pursue it, please post your experiences with it.

    That lift scares me. You better make sure your floor is thick enough.

    Minimum 4" thick with 3,000 PSI concrete required. Mine exceeds that spec.

    Double check that, code around here is 4" and assumed as such, drilled some test holes in the garage and found it to average 3-3.5" at the most. So couldn't do a maxjax which sucks ass.

    Ended up going with http://www.amazon.com/Race-Ramps-RR-...s=race+ramps+4 and danmar cadet 6000xl http://www.costco.ca/Dannmar-Cadet-6...100123828.html . Not the ideal setup, however will make fluid changes and brake bleeding a breeze.

    Friend joel has the same one, he his building a gen 2 tt on it, he absolutely loves it, i installed my paxton with out a lift and in one night i could be up and down 50 times while he just pushes a button, huge back saver, i will be getting one too, plus is the room savings vs a four post and you don't need two people to re & re the hoist.

    Redx I'm sure you could extend the post plate on either side to add two more mounting points on sides total of 9 vs 5 and be more than safe.
    a simple plate with a step on it with four holes drilled in it to mount too the existing two holes.

    paulp wasn't going to bother, from what i saw on garage journal most guys cut out blocks of concrete and repoured them with interlacing rebar. I'm not going to keep this house for too much longer anyways. Building/purchasing a different house and will equip with a proper 2 post and will keep the scissor for oil changes and what not when the 2 post is occupied.

    I had never seen those. That looks like a pretty awesome setup. Especially for people that don't want to commit fully to a lift set up all the time in garages that just aren't as big (like mine) as ones that can have a lift or 2 set up all the time.

    A friend of mine and his family is 3 or 4 generations mason out here and he has been doing concrete (residential and commercial) since he could walk. I gotta see if my garage would take one of these as is or if I would have to do something first but overall I really like the setup.

    Bought mine from bestbuyautoequipment.com. Total was $2124.00. Had it shipped to a local dock where I got pick up on my schedule and I can put it in back of the truck. Costco went out of stock before I ordered, but ended up being cheaper without state tax.

    Sales even followed up with my email almost immediately to confirm that it would not be shipping till "mid-April" and told me they would follow up again with shipping confirmation and PRO number after it left the shipping dock.

    I got mine from Summit, they matched the best price I found, I can't remember if it a $1795 or $1895 shipped (this was over 4 years ago).
    I had it left at Conway's dock for my pick-up.
