So, I said a long time ago that we'd start releasing videos of the repairs we did on our car to help anyone else trying to navigate them (especially without the shop manuals).
This one is, of course, outrageously simple. It's just to make sure the format is as helpful as it can be and to get input before we release harder jobs.
The basic premise is that:
1. We'll include a complete list of tools used.
2. All close-ups will be preceded by a wide shot to orient you spatially. Repair DIY's that are zoomed in on some little aspect without reference make it hard for people not familiar with what they're looking for to find their way.
3. Repair videos will be in HD.
We'll go ahead with the fascia video that people asked us about ages ago if nobody objects to this format or has any big suggestions. We're 100% amateurs at filming/audio, so don't worry about making us sad with criticism.
Here's some highlights from that:
Before:
During:
After:
(One of our Christmas card photo possibilities. Couldn't have any snow for that, but darn if we haven't had it like once a week since, lol.):
Definitely not factory-perfect, as seen on cars like this:
But a better than the abomination it was before hand. I got tired of showing people the car and literally the first thing out of their mouth would be "what's wrong with the bumper."
Hopefully this helps other owners in the future.
