    Viper clutch failure, video

lol, well the factory clutch did great roll racing with 800/830. First time from a stop it said bye bye. Here is a funny video of it, I'm at WOT and off the clutch about 10 feet out but the clutch just wasn't working. When I went to 1-2 the car the pedal was basically non existent. I let it cool off for an hour, and could barely get it home lol.

    Time for upgrades again!

This was a common problem on Gen 4s. The clutch fluid would boil and the clutch pedal would go to the floor. Have you tried pumping the clutch? If it comes back it could just be trapped air from boiling. Bleed the clutch and replace fluid with Motul 600 or Castrol.

The smoke in that video you just watched wasn't from the tires

Fluid is upgraded already, my Gen4 clutch was leaps and bounds better than the Gen5 IMO. I probably had an honest 40+ passes in the 1.4x 60's with a factory Gen4 clutch.

This just wasn't going to hold up to the combo, I knew that. Thats why I bought a clutch for it weeks ago.

What was the 60ft? Looks like you did a good job launching it. You must of slipped the clutch like a MOFO. The nose never came down. Maybe I'm wrong, but first gear is so long you are going to have to slip the new clutch also to get a decent launch. It may go too lol..

Yeah its for sure going to need slipping which I did, but even after that the clutch never hooked it. I ordered a triple BBG and I've got a local that wants me to test a carbon clutch, which would do great in that situation. We'll see which gets here first and which I like more, I refuse to put a clutch in that drives like shit.

The title of the vid is the best part-lol. I was hoping it would at least hold for a couple passes.

Video title FTW! Sorry for the breakage. The 60 looked really great, very nice launch, impressed!

Can't wait to see a full pass with the new clutch! Thanks for posting.

Wow! I see. I wondering if SRT is aware of this?

    Its not srt ,s fault

Buy a drag pack challenger. They are better set up for drag raceing. Vipers are for race tracks

I never said it was SRT's fault, and no I don't want a drag pack challenger. This car will get road raced, drag raced, street raced and driven in the rain….whatever I want it to do.

This was on a race track, FYI

Then post a photo of YOUR car on a track, show us something. Your created threads are just about wax and vinyl decals.
