Gauging Interest 14 Fully Loaded GTS w/mods

    This is painful...

Oil is still falling and I am considering jumping out in front of what are probably tough times a head. First off I love this car and shes been babied from day one. I've taken an open checkbook approach and no expense has been spared. All maintenance, recalls and mods have been done by Morgan of Tomball Dodge. Warranty is still a go. This car is a weekend driver and has never been tracked or beat on. The wife and I just cruise and enjoy the car. Very sad to let her go but Im sure somewhere down the road Ill pick up another.

Black with Silver Strips w/ Sabelt Red Leather w/carbon fiber trim interior.
Full carbon fiber package inside and out.
    Track package with upgraded rotors
Tinted windows (limo tint in the back and 17% on the sides)

    Mods:
1)C Quarts Finest Ceramic coating with paint correction. ($1200 and a ton of labor to fix factory swirl marks) 3 yr warranty by Vive Auto Detailing
    1) K&N intake ( Still have the stock box too)
    2) Belanger Headers w/high flow cats and Cosra catback exhaust (Installed at Tomball Dodge)
    3) HP tuners software with custom Tune (Torrie's 2nd tune is now installed)

    Car has 7500 miles
    asking 94K
100K mile warranty is on the car rt now and can be included

Sorry you have to let her go. What I beauty, with all the goods and upgrades. Someone is going to buy this from you, and have one HELLUVA nice car.

Can't you sell a kidney or something instead? Sorry, just a little humor to try to lighten the mood. Good luck with sale, and tough times don't last.....you'll be back!

94k for a fully loaded GTS?! Won't last long, so at least you'll get a quick sell. Sad you have to give her up though

$94K for a used GTS with 7,500 miles is going to be tough in this market. There are literally dozens of brand new leftover 2013 and 2014 GTS models sitting on showroom floors across the country that are less than your price and still aren't selling.

As for oil, you're probably around 3-5 months early. Oil will likely see $30-$35 a barrel. As a trader, these are some awesome times. Haven't made this much money since 2008-2010.

Don't sell that car until you see two more inventory reports.

Orange TA, as a trader you love these drops, as a producer I hate it. With that being said, next time it happens I will be laughing all the way to the bank. I won't get caught with the pants down again. Once we get a better price we will get a good hedge program before we ramp up the cap ex.

I think we have seen the bottom and have good support at the 44 level... If we get decent inventory reports the next two weeks this holds, if not we see that 30 to 35...

Just remember, Saudi has spoke of $200 oil next year, that would be great, and they have the power to do it.

Happy for you buddy. I believe the price is fair.
Its not that I have to sell her but that its the smart thing to do. Someone will get a great car.

I think it's more than fair with the mods you've done to it, along with the existing warranty being transferable... People are getting too hung up with comparing everything with "New left overs at dealers"...

    Agree

It's one thing for people to chime in with "what they think" cars are worth on cars posted on cars.com and the like.

But if you have issue with someone posting what they want for their car on here, should be kept to yourself.

Mods typically lower the value of the car, not raise it.

Saying we're getting too hung up comparing a used car with 7500 miles that's priced higher than some that are brand new is pretty silly. Why even use MSRP sticker prices or book values at that point? Gen Vs should be worth $500K. Let's not compare that $500K price to anything.

Poorly chosen mods, absolutely. In this case, I disagree...they are well chosen, high quality parts. There's only one on the list that I personally wouldn't want (K&N intake), but he's offering the stock box as well, so it's a non-issue.

The only thing that mods might do in this case is limit your market - it seems like a fair number of people want to buy bone stock Vipers, especially those that don't know Vipers and Viper mods well.

Sorry but you're completely wrong. This is a discussion forum used for discussion. The guy is posting a "feeler" post. It's supposed to be discussed as he is trying to get a "feel" for the market.

If you don't want to receive feedback on your car or price in a public setting than you post it on cars.com, Autotrader etc. Discussion forums are designed to discuss things, not post ads with prices and ask that nobody reply or discuss them. Not to mention the OP is posting a feeler, so responses as to his price are exactly what he's looking for as he tries to get a "feel" for where the market on his car is.

Well you are, call me silly all you want. It gets really old hearing "omg omg you can buy a new one for that, good luck ha ha" over and over. Mods do lower the price if they're extensive engine/drivetrain/suspension etc. But really, headers and an intake... c'mon... good luck selling that speech here..

The point I was trying to make, is that everyone is comparing used cars with mods and different levels of care, to brand new ones, and saying: that's the market, this is the only way you can decide a car's value is by basing it directly on a new one. That's what's "silly". You're assuming that no one ever freaking mods their car, and that there aren't people out there looking for a car that has exactly what he's done to the car already on it, and done by a very respectable dealer at that. You're comment about 500k is cute btw...

Someone will either pay him $94k or they wont. Who cares other than OP? If no one does, it's his business to choose how he wants to handle it by either lowering his price or not selling. Why is this always discussed? Especially in a thread of a member who supported the club, a club supporting vendor, and the car we love?

Got a point, just gets old seeing posts like that instead of just: good luck with sale...

Sorry to hear of the troubles OP and I do hope something changes for the better for you and you will either a) get back in one again or b) not have to sell it anymore.

If you don't want people discussing what they think about the price, maybe you should mention it. You have not said anything in regards to this so that's why I'm bringing it up because I know it can derail things.

Orange TA has some good points but I would say put it up on cars.com and Autotrader and eBay for 94k and see what people offer you. I personally think high 80s is more in line with the current market but that's my opinion. Someone could come along and want it because of the mods. Just make sure to put it up on as many sites as you can so you can increase your exposure.

OH, you should also post a picture of the window sticker so interested parties can see the options.

Sorry to hear, great mods, all of which do increase the value of a viper, especially for viper enthusiasts who understand the value of these very well chosen mods. If you painted a dolphin on the hood then yes, value wood go down from that mod, but these are tried and true mods that cost thousands and thousands, plus the coating, very nice. We are finally moving into spring, that should help a lot in the market and prices will rise as half the country gets back into the car market. Sucks to have to sell, but timing is way better than if this were December or something.

I didn't see anywhere in the OP's post where he asked what would be a good price for his car, did you? Some people with an axe to grind just enjoy taking a shit in other peoples threads.

I'm tired of the jerks that like to piss on people's ads. Especially when they aren't even paid members here.

I think the price is fair, for an excellent optioned car with every option and tasteful mods. BTW, your stripes appear to be Gunmetal Pearl, not silver.
