Congratulations on a stellar career at Chrysler! Could you have imagined the cool folks you'd work with, cool projects you'd work on, and awesome engines you'd create when you first started working for Chrysler?
Best wishes to you and yours.
As much as we all remember his contribution to Viper, we must not forget the numerous SRT engines, back in the days of the 360's, 2.2s, even before he was in engines and did some work in driveline/axles. What an amazing history he has had with the brand with so many positive additions to the brand. Chrysler will be losing a diehard who remembers the ways in which our brand has grown up with. We will miss you Mr. Winkles. Thanks for all your years of service making our brand better than the rest.
Robert
P.S. I hope you don't lose that sense of humor while sitting in a rocking chair on your front porch....
That would be a "Hemi" or V10 powered rocking chair I bet. Best of luck in retirement.
Randall, is that guy Herb using your 93 as a coaster?
Congrats Dick. What a blessing and cool experience to live right here in the Motor City and to have Dick participate in our local MCVO Chapter. I've had the pleasure of visiting with Dick at multiple social and driving events throughout the years. Class Act. Thank you for all you've done for Viper Nation! John
Thank you, Mr. Winkles.

Congrats Dick! Here's to the man that gave our Vipers their unforgettable "heart beat"....phenomenal job and best wishes!!!
I'm cracking up seeing some of these replies. Dick retired, he didn't die. I guess sometimes I take for granted being in the MCVO area and seeing people like Dick, Graham Henkle, Dave Buchesky, and Ralph show up at club meets and be able to have fun with these guys like they are family. Dick gave me some solid advise on issues I had when tracking my Vipers. Thanks for your continued service to the Viper world.

Congratulations Dick.
FYI, his first act after announcing his well earned retirement (OK ... he might have had a beer and a meal ... but the next thing he did) was to register on our forum! Welcome!

Congrats Mr Winkles.
Was an honor to have met you and appreciate everything you have done for the Viper Powertrain. Hope your apprentice is up to speed.

Is Dick involved with the Riley/Viper Exchange/TI GT3R team this year?
Thank you, Dick Winkles. Welcome to the VOA!
Thank you and good work!
Dick, if you end up reading this I could go on and on about what a blessing you have been to Viper and me personally, but since you are a man of few words I'll just say thank you for being my friend.
Enjoy yourself!
I will say again...how epic would his book be? All the inside stories of how this car came to be from a wild concept car to the record on the ring. I really hope he writes one. Especially if it had some great behind the scenes photos of the places they were working on designs, testing stuff, and pics of the crew of people that brought this thing we all love so much to life.
Please Sir, write a book. I will buy the 2 copies. One to read and one to put up next to my signed valve cover.
Very well respected gentleman among many at FCA, as well as others with competitive manufacturers. Nice that he went to work with Arrow as now many of his old friends have been able to stay in close touch to the Maistro.
Thanks for hanging around , still helping with your baby and ours.
Was great meeting him that's for sure
I'm thinking this added at least 10k to the value of our ACR. Thanks Dick it was an honor and pleasure to meet you.
