Got my money. Looking for cars.

Hello,

So I finally got my insurance money for our burnt up '05 Copperhead and I've been shopping for what I'd like next with a more serious attitude now that money is in hand. As expected many sellers/dealers have cars made out of iridium and are pricing themselves out of my market. I have a solid offer for a Gen III Vert for well under 40k with quite low miles. It is just not what I want color wise but I am usually function over form. I'm not willing to spend close to 50k or 10k more for a Gen III coupe when I can have a Gen IV Coupe for not much more than that. In fact there are some very convincing Gen IV deals out there. I feel I'm a reasonable guy looking for a reasonable option. I think everyone's loot is going towards the Gen Vs for good reason.

So if anyone has a Gen III coupe or anything interesting for 40-45k I'd love to hear about it. I would listen to Gen IV deals but like I said I have some pretty interesting offers already so they would need to be pretty good!

Did you see the black on black 06 coupe on the autotrader for $45k in ATL. They just put it on ebay for $41k buy it now. It's got 35k miles though, looks clean but not sure about the carfax. That's a sick deal if it's a no stories car. I'd sell you my 06 but it's made with lots of iridium lol. Somebody on here bought a clean gen IV coupe for less than 50k not to long ago so you just have to be patient if you want a steal.

I agree that most are shady but I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is. Care to wager a few G's of that insurance money?

Problem is the people who think mint coupes are worth the same as ragged out verts......

heh that's a wager I will pass on. I agree coupes are worth more but when the price difference between mint Gen 3 coupe and mint Gen 4 coupe is <5k it becomes a bit silly.

This car is immaculate in person. I've seen it many times, and Michael is a wheel customer of mine. You won't find a cleaner 2006 coupe, unless you find a new one.

Vipers aren't Corvettes, they do hold their value well, regardless of year. The fact that you had to post this thread to find one, tells us all about supply vs demand. There simply aren't that many out there for sale, and the cheapest cars are usually story cars or high mileage cars. You really do get what you pay for, imho.

So my inspector emailed me this morning, and as much as I hate to "talk shit" about people/products... Here's the skinny from the inspector. And yes I'm willing to email it to anyone who's thinking of looking at this car.

Car has been in an extensive front end collision, every body piece replaced, resulting in mismatched paint on both doors *slight discoloration* as well as 2 different types of clear coat used on both doors.
Rear hatch is misaligned, suspect it is due to previously mentioned accident
All 4 tires are worn past wear bars, unsuitable/illegal for road use
Power steering pump leak from internal seal, sealed unit so entire pump needs replacement
Oil leak from return lines
2 wheels have extensive curb rash
Interior center console has severe peeling

These were the major things. Inspector said the car drove fine with exception of the bald tires providing limited traction. It tracks straight and has no evidence of frame warp. Carfax report shows a total loss of the car which seems to be correct however autotrader does not show this accident.

Yeah I hate to see nice cars treated like that, but someone who's looking for a car to fix up wouldn't have an issue with it.
