    Paxton Airflow Diverter

Looking at some pictures of Paxton Gen 2s, I noticed some have an airflow diverter to funnel flow through the NACA duct to the blower. I am installing my Paxton kit right now and don't have one of these. Is this a part that can be ordered separately from Paxton? I would imagine it provides a pretty significant increase in airflow. I've attached a picture from Google for reference. You can see the angled bracket right in front.

Here are a couple pics of my Paxton on a gen 2.....doesn't look anything like your pic..Do you have the Novi-2000?.... Check out this link...it's what you should have from Paxton.Filter lines up right in front of the NACA Duct.Might be an older model or made for Viper without AC....Strange!!

That looks very nice! Especially that little solenoid tucked in there between the throttle bodies. The kit pictured is the Doug Levin Motorsports modified Paxton kit. It makes a few upgrades to the kit including a front mount intercooler and does away with the 90* elbow for the filter.

On a side note, how do you like your Paxton? How much boost are you seeing and do you know what size pulley you're on? I'm unbelievably anxious to finish this thing up and get it on the road (hopefully by TX2k). I've probably seen your dyno video 20 times on YouTube and every time I watch it it makes me more anxious. Beautiful car, man.

Thanks, Plum. I'll try calling Doug about it.

Thanks guys.....Didn't even know DLM existed....That's good to know there's somebody out there that does some modifications on Paxton's ......I'm only running 5 lbs of boost and the motor work to get the 666 rwhp.....One of these days I'll go with some forged internals and maybe take it up to about 9 lbs. but for now it's plenty fast enough....That's why I changed my plates from BAD-V10 to EVIL-10 ..... Because she will try to get you if you aren't watching!!! ....your going to love it when you get it all going...Good luck and post some WIP pics.....there's 3 solenoids tucked in there for the plate NOS system...haven't even used it yet......

Sucking in air from the back side of the radiator seems like such a half ass design. They design the entire system and then drop the ball with the air cleaner, decidedly a hp robbing design. Especially on a blown motor were air inlet temps are so critical.

I did notice the DLM air filter does sit partially behind radiator compared to mine,it sits on top of radiator in front of open hood vent......Just don't want to get caught in heavy rain or it will suck it all in

You already made 666rwhp? Or are you expecting 666rwhp on 5 lbs?

    I'm making low 700's on 13 pounds with a 2.75" pulley.

    I made 662whp on 10 lbs with a 3.0" pulley.

    M&M headers/catless/ 3" borla catback
    T&D rockers
Full -8 return style fuel system with dual walbros and 60 lb injectors
    Roe Meth Kit
    2 bar map sensor
    no filter (chicken wire)
    SCT Tuner

Making big power on these really comes down to how aggressive you get with the timing. I had Torrie from Unleashed tune mine and we stayed relatively conservative. I basically stopped adding timing when I got over 700whp but we were still seeing +20whp every 2 degrees.

Wow.....Sounds like you have it together on your car....Check out my signature below for engine mods and the YouTube video below .for SC Dyno ,I made 518 rwhp with engine mods and 666 rwhp with SC and 5 lbs boost....(With our cars being red that makes us faster also ).....SeriousHP here in Houston did my work and recommended Forged internals before I go any higher in Hp....They are a lot smarter than I am so I'm going to take their advice....

Thanks, man. I can't wait. I love the Nitrous Outlet plate setups on these cars, but I've got enough nitrous to blow up a house on my Camaro, so this one stays boost only. I have some WIP pics on my phone. I'll try to post those up in a little while.

That's awesome power gains from 5 PSI!!! Serious will be seeing my car HOPEFULLY in time for TX2k15, but I just got an opportunity to get a low mileage forged engine for a great deal, so it depends when I can get that shipped here. Blower has a 3 inch pulley at this point, but may see a 2.75 if I get that engine. We'll see what 10+ PSI will get on a basically otherwise stock engine.

ah, you have headwork done. Makes sense now.

Yeah, I have a 97 so I'm up at 13 pounds, but I too am at the limit for my stock forged internals (or at least what I'm comfortable with).

I bought a one-off 106mm single turbo kit recently I will be installing next winter and I will be building the short block as well to hold the power. It never ends wit these cars and the power is so addicting!

Better late than never. These are some late stage WIP pics. Should be buttoning it back up this week or early next and sending it to the tuner!

Looking good!!!!......like all the black powdercoating.....If your looking to dress up your engine bay with more black here is a pic of the stuff I got from JMB Performance and put on mine.....Radiator overflow tank,Windshield washer reservoir and he will send you a set of powder coated valve covers and you send him yours back..just make sure you get a neat little set of baffles that he makes for covers. You can't salvage the ones you take out of your existing covers.....

I bet that looks good on there. May have to look at those once I have money again. Lol.

The color on the piping is a dark gray with flake in it, but you can't really see it in the picture. I actually already pc'd the intake and valve covers to match the car. I was able to reuse the factory baffles as well. I was really careful taking them out though.
