Hi Mark,
Did you guys get the seat bracket installed? If so, could you tell if it was a 2.5" drop on the 2015? Or more like a 1.5"(2.5" being on the 2013s)?
Interior view.jpg Finally found a pic that illustrates the 6" swath of visibility us guys have been whining about. All we see is headliner and hood. No chance of seeing traffic 10 feet away. Lol
So I got a definitive response from Cory at Snakeoyl below..... Now just to see if my local dealer can get me the car I want!
All 13-15 seats , all years drop approx 2.5 plus inches that we have done here (several)
We see this increase of head to headliner room but this varies from vehicle to vehicle slightly based on each vehicle is slightly different, peoples backside, cushion variables and so-on..
So for the those who hold the tape measure different we had elected to advertise the seat lower kit at 2 plus inches......
As for the phone we are sorry to here you didn't get thru the phone tree......We are a small company combined with Spring has arrived in our area..Thus there isn't currently enough hours in a day
Are they also making a passenger side as well? thanks.
Anyone have these installed yet? Need an update on this.
I am waiting for an answer to a question that I have before I take the unit I have and install it. I know the seat is in a fixed position once installed. What I need to know is if I have ANY other position option other than "all the way back." All the way back puts my helmet against the downslope of the roof.
Mine was installed at ViperExchange this week- I won't be able to pick it up until next week. I'll see if they can post some pics of it here.
The installed position is a little further forward than all the way back. Maybe a click? I think if a guy wanted to, he could re drill all the seat mounting holes 3/4" ahead of what's there, to get the seat even further forward, from what I remember when I installed the kit.
But something else to consider, is the fact that with the seat that much lower, maybe that part of the roof will be a non issue...... I would install the seat as it comes, and try it on, it's pretty east to remove and readjust after the fact. Don't ask me how I know.
If the roof is still an issue, I would move the holes forward that amount. This would also make the seat easier to mount, by making the rear nuts more accessible.
I sat briefly in my neighbors '14 that has the lowering kit installed and it's something I do plan on ordering later this year. Note that I didn't take it for a drive, but the lower position does help out with visibility. I'm 6'2" and can drive the car ok without it, but I expect this will make it just right.

Sounds like this will fit me just about perfectly. Is this a DIY job for a car with manual seats?
I've been driving with my seat lowering kids for a few weeks. It is awesome. Now all I see is windshield. Thanks for this product.
Thanks for the kind words. We have had nothing but positive comments from customers like yourself. The lowering kit has proven to be very popular, with literally dozens sold to date.
Hey guys, any more real world updates? I'm 6'4" and do not fit in a viper without touching the roof and B-pillar at the same time.
I'm really hoping this is the cure I'm looking for. I am specifically not ordering leather interior in the hopes that the ballistic seat is wider and lower.
Hey Donk,
We have had very positive feedback from folks in your height range who have installed the lowering kit. One guy on the forums is the Illinois Chapter pres. and he is at least your height. He has the lowering kit in his car and is VERY Happy with it...
It made a big difference. I'm also 6'4" and it definitely helps us big guys see the road better. My head used to touch and I could never rest my head back on the seat because of the slope of the roof. While we could use 4-5" lower, nothing short of cutting the floor will get you there. This is a good solution.
I'm 6'2" 265lbs with only a 32" inseam. So I sit very tall in the car. I also have a 36" waist, so I guess I'd be considered top heavy, lol. There was no way in hell Ifit without the seat drop. Definitely worked for me.
Also, the ballistic seats work way better for any bigger guys than the GTS seats. Ive sat in both, and the GTS seats are much too tight for a bigger guy. I dont understand why, as they're supposed to be the same frame, but the difference is there.
Do you live anywhere near Edmonton? I have a track day on August 15th and if you're near by you can test fit my car.
