    97 GTS Dyno

dyno'd my car. mods are corsa catback, high flow cats, smooth tubes and drop in k&ns. wanted to get a baseline before installing a&c heads & cam package and headers. vid came out a little grainy, numbers are 456rwhp and 491rwtq

Those are really good numbers. What are you hoping for after the H/C?

mid to high 500's would be great, according to todd and erick, that is obtainable. doing their ported heads, cam, rockers, headers, ported intake and tune. the more the better of course

Wow....is that really what I should expect out of my 96....since I have essentially that? Corsas, cats, 70mm thottle bodies, smooth tubes and K&N airbox/intake?

Nice stuff! I have the same mods as well, along with a canned Unleashed SCT tune. I'm aiming to do a dyno run this Summer.
I'm also looking for an upgrade path similar to yours. Please keep us informed of your progress.

Who are you looking to do your tune?

Have to agree, those are amazing numbers. Considering driveline loss, you'd be roughly 490 to 495 HP at the crank and near 530 to 540 ft-lbs of torque. That would be awesome from just those mods and no tune.

I came in at 420HP and 450 ft-lbs at the wheels. I have smooth tubes, rear muffler delete and K&N's in there. Only mod I have not made are the high flows. That's pretty much what I expected for the car. You do have a slightly more aggressive CAM in the pre-99 cars.

If you did that without a tune.... are you certain there was nothing else done to that car before you got it? Perhaps 1.7 rollers in there already? Some mild head work? I'd hate for you to dump the money on the heads & CAM expecting a big jump if there is a jump from stock already.

I hope it is bone stock.... because if it is.... go and kiss the guy/gal that assembled it! You definitely have a Wednesday motor!

Those are awesome numbers for just those mods. My '00 ACR only put down 431HP at the wheels with that setup. My '99 GTS bascially has the same mods that you are upgrading to now. 560HP/540TQ on 100 octane in 90 degree heat. You should be happy with the results.
