If the performance matches the aggressive looks.....the King is back......VERY exciting.

The ACR is going to have a nice price penalty over the 2.0: CC brakes, more lightweight materials, less insulation...

The success of the ACR as a track weapon will be measured in its track performance and lap times...not dyno results. An arbitrary hp goal should be meaningless to experienced track rats, and we don't need to look very far to see a new "track car" whose designers didn't seem to realize that.

Awesome news. This is the Gen V I have been looking forward to

I actually hope that they wont offer the ACR in the 1 of 1 program. These need to be offered in a few colors and a stripe configuration not offered for any std models.

Oh crap, the ACR! Hmm, what to do with a TA 2.0 on order. I guess my questions would be:

How much better would the ACR be at the track, and how much worse on the street?

Any speculation on how much more the carbon brakes, larger wing and anything else ACR specific would add to the TA 2.0 price?

Oh crap no option for A/C at all? That's a bit too hard core for my dual-purpose needs.

    ACR? What ACR?

    Allpars 'reliable source'. Hmmm.

I'll reserve any excitement till the word comes out from the D itself.

Hey now, don't crush GM's dreams Matt. They believe in a Z06 convertible...of course after the first lap and then the ECU eats away the HP. LOL

    Allpar's word is GOLD!

The ACR will need a revised transmission if they want to dominate the ring like they did in the past. Dual clutch transmission, im not really a fan and love rowing but imo this has to be done.

Porsche got their car right (gt3), track suited car capable of running 11.3 in the 1/4 mile all through an NA 6 cylinder.

I'll still wait Randall. NYIAS is still two months away. LOL

I'm already camping outside the Javitz Center as we speak.

Not a chance on a car that "might" sell 75-100 units optimistically. At most ported or something to pick up 10-15HP (and I doubt that).
The gains will be in the weight, brakes, suspension and of course aero.
    But at what cost.

If they really want it to be the world record holder that it once was, it will need at least 700 HP and even that's not enough. I'm the last one who cares about that but times are a changing and you can't ignore your competition. Especially with that Ferrari 488 coming out.

Naw. Guys like Randy Pobst still like the manual better. Lighter too. The GEN V ACR in manual could actually break the 7 min mark unlike the fake Z06 article. 8 seconds for the GEN V to gain over the GEN IV.

If this ACR is confirmed by Dodge as true, who would order a TA 2 (for the track) with an ACR looming the very next year.
I'll never understand the marketing. It's like ordering a Gen IV with aero when you can have an ACR.
I preferred my Aero Coupe to the ACR. I actually think it was a mistake on my part when I traded it for the ACR.

Actually, 12.13 seconds to break 7 minutes.

Yep. And people forget that the X did it in 7:03. That is running full slicks, 640 hp and a lighter car.

Uh, ever heard of Formula 1 or Indy? If done right, it makes no difference whether its coupe or vert.

Regardless, I could care less about being able to officially put it in a track. I suppose it makes about as much sense as 1000 horsepower street cars........ Oh wait, I build those all the time. I guess maybe what the "track rats" want doesnt always equate to what sells.

    ACR
    1of1

Viper basically has everything one could want now.

Awesome news. If this comes to fruition as I think it will, I'm in. I don't think a dual clutch tranny makes a huge difference in lap times to an advanced driver. I also hope for a HP bump, but don't need a big one. All I need is a kick ass, reliable, track beast that puts down blistering lap times. And please, no ACR vert, LOL
