Anyone with a white Gen V notice this?

Started noticing this yellowing inside an area within the door jamb. Also slight yellowing on the outside above the rocker as seen in the pic below. Cannot figure out for the life of me what could've caused this. Took it to my detailer, tried a few things but the yellowing is almost etched into the clear. Looks like I will have to take the rockers off and use some compound to remove it. It seemed to become more apparent after a most recent track day...so I'm assuming the heat made it worse.

Not sure if it's something that will eventually become a warranty issue so I wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this. I say white because I don't think it will be as apparent on any other color if it is something purely related to heat.

Its a heat related issue. All white G5s will have this happen.

Get it documented now so if you do anything to the car it is covered now. So, if you decide to sell the car in 2-3 years it can get repainted under warranty.

And I had it happen to my White 2013

As others have said, heat. Was common on silver Gen II's as well.

Ditching the cats helped on older Gens.

Same thing happened to my white viper. I put a strip of white wrap to cover it. Just giving you a real cheap idea to fix it. It will probably happen again if the dealer paints it.

Drive faster and the car will stay cooler.

I believe some folks were removing the sills and improving the insulation in that area. There seems to be a spot not fully covered. Haven't noticed it yet on my white 14 GTS but I'll have to look more closely.

I have a feeling it's combination of just plain high heat and possibly some left over soap residue/hard water from washing that may sit in there and cause a reaction once heated. I definitely like the idea of some white wrap for the inside, but what concerns me is the outer part yellowing. Looks like it's time to figure out some solutions to minimizing heat in that area before it gets worse.

I had that on my silver 98 and took the cats off while the sills were being resprayed and it's been perfect going on 6 years now. New car is yellow but if this happens it will be the excuse I'm looking for to change out the exhaust.

Will using High flow cats void any part of the warranty ?

Got it too ! Does not bother me

Mine doesn't have it, but I got rid of cats as soon as I could

Im sure heat accelerates the issue.

But; the 03/04 SVT Cobras had same issues with rockers and bumper covers turning yellowish.

My wifes 13 Toyo Venza was pearl white and some of the urethane trim pieces also had yellowing after a year. Its almost like theres something in the flex agent or molding process from the urethane that leaches out.

Both of my white Gen 5 cars formed that. Heat from the cats. Doesn't bother me, can't see it with door shut. I might paint that area matte black, when I do exhaust mods.

i took the distal cats off as corsa exh. was put it, which was wrapped with 2" titanium wrap… all upto the new cat delete section and heat is not really an issue anymore…. i can pre much touch any part of the door sill and into the rocker area w/o burning myself…. it still gets hot if i sit for 10minutes or so/not moving…. but o/w, it was a good 'fix' ….

If the aftermarket part is the cause of other failures, yes.

From what I understand, if you change anything from headers back, your warranty is fine. Please refer to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act for more info on the subject

For anyone interested, looks like Dodge knew about the problem and opted to paint the 2015's with a matte black/grey color in this area. I found this pic on a white 2015 from Tomball.

Interesting. I might do this when I put my exhaust on.
