What are my tuning options on a stock 2001 gts?

That I know of, without going to a standalone ECU and/or an inline system, your only choice is the SCT X3 flash tuner.

If you want a custom tune, then you need a local tech with the tuner software and a Dyno. Once you have that you can get a custom tune done a flashed to the stock ECU.

Why would you need to tune a stock car?

- Because the stock tune may not be set perfect for a specific engine.
- Wear and age can also change things.
- Dodge would have tuned this for longevity and warranty support.... Not necessarily ideal for performance.
- Where the car lives can vary a tune. For example, a tune for me in Miami, at sea level, will be very different from what somebody in Denver would use.
- you might have custom tunes made for track days vs. daily drives.

To give you a real life example... My stock tune for a supercharged Charger yields a peak of 575 HP at the crank. My best drag strip tune for cool night and ideal Air/Fuel yields a peak of 605HP at the crank.... That's a pretty significant difference.

Stock or not.... A custom tune can make a difference.
