Detailing the paint on a Carbon Edition GEN V

I was looking at the Carbon Edition Viper on the SRT page and a question came to mind about how to detail the paint. I have seen vinyl wrapped cars and it can be a problem to maintain the satin sheen on the vinyl. As I understand it with the Carbon Edition, they put a clear coat over the base color and instead of being glossy it is satin. I think it is a very distinctive look, but I can't figure out how to detail the paint. All my micro-polishes I use are designed to polish the finish and make it shine more. I know the satin clear coat is hard, but would you do that or just clean the finish and put on Carnauba wax to protect it? Perhaps Junkman has detailed some cars with this type of paint job, but I haven't read anything about how to do it.

I love the look, but before I got one I would sure like to know how to maintain the paint.

You can't polish, etc. So any defects are very hard to get out.

Thank you for the links. I assumed you would have to be careful cleaning it. My biggest fear would be that after driving all day in bad weather and having a filthy car, that some dork, thinking they are cute would write "wash me" with his finger and scratch the finish. That would hopefully never happen, but if it did and I catch them in the act can I maim them?

I know with the matte/satin finishes on Harley's the best way to clean them is Windex and paper towels... But to clean an entire car like that would require a 51% owners stake in a paper towel company! Haha!

I had those matte black stripes on a Harley. They aren't fun to maintain. Soap and water, no wax, and avoid any rubbing against them or you'll make a shiny spot. Some of the other brands selling matte finishes make the buyer sign some sort of agreement that they understand it is unique and have been taught how to maintain it properly.

Im sure SRT will have you sign off on a suitable you don't take care of it we aren't covering it document. (See last page.)

Great to look at but I don't want any part of a Matte finish.
