    Viper Buyer's Guide, FYI

A friend of mine is interested in buying a GenII GTS. So, I thought he might benefit from having the Viper Buyer’s Guide that Maurice published about 10 years ago. I searched Amazon hoping to find a used buyer’s guide. I found three for sale…two were priced at $400.00, and the other at $1100. Impressive. So, if you have one, it is seemingly worth a bunch of money.

And he should update it for the newer models as well.

You guys should double check to make sure this isn't just Amazon price gremlins before you use the books to pay for your kids' college. I bought a lot of very expensive ($200-500 for a single volume) academic books for grad school, and you'd periodically see an older book in hardcover with some bonkers price, like $950 for a book that costs $55 in paperback.

Would anyone ever pay that? Absolutely not. It's like those $173,000 2013 Gen V's that are still for sale on Cars.com. Nobody knows what the seller was thinking.

Perhaps Maurice can just ePub it now... Worth asking him.

Here is the buyers guide I used when buying mine:

Step 1: Showed up and saw the car.
Step 2: Felt weak in the knees.
Step 3: Would give them whatever they wanted so I could have it
Step 4: Seek help for permanent grin

    Viper Buyer s Guide FYI

OK, found my old Viper Buyer's Guide by Maurice Q. Liang. I knew the used book was about $200 a year or two ago. I just checked $569.38 used on Amazon, $600 for new. that's the lowest price, then the next one is for $892.01 at books Express, then there is a copy at $1,340.26 at Books Express. My copy just went into a zip lock bag in my Viper time capsule

I once brought a signed copy to my local Viper Club Holiday event as a gift. A troglodyte picked my gift out of the pile and opened it. I told them it was autographed by Maurice. He said 'Maurice Who?'

    Your Welcome...dip shit.

good question, I would think the price got that high because of demand and lack of supply, not by lack of interest

I had the book but thats exactly what happened to me. Turned up expecting to negotiate hard on price - that didn't work....

I almost bought a guide at a bookstore a few years back - as I recall, it wasn't very expensive. I didn't, not sure why. I guess I should have....damn!

I have hard times to believe that some one will actually pay these prices....

But.... I would probably let my copy go for 500$US ;-)

I bet this guy wished he would have kept the book, he said "it went down another dollar" and returned it - oooops

I looked at my old Amazon order, I paid $7.95 for it in 2007. Still not buying it people will actually pay the asking price, especially with all the info out there on the web/forums/social media.
