I used the below battery tender on my gen IV when letting the car sit thru the winter months. I used the adapter that connected permanently to the battery which enabled you to quick disconnect from the unit.

There was an open spot where I could run this quick disconnect thru the battery box out the back of the vehicle. The Gen V does not have the opening and I really do not want to run the chord thru the back hatch because it appears the interior lights will stay on without the hatch being closed.
Any suggestions ?
