It's on ebay now with more info, have to say that I am very tempted especially as it has the full Belanger exhaust fitted, this could end in divorce though

Well that's a difficult one, the Autoform/ Woodhouse Daytona 91 car would be the more collectable and should hold its value better. The wheels fitted to that car are not the original ones, it also had Michelin Pilot sport 2 tires fitted, the original car would have had pilot sport 1s (no longer made) This 91 car also comes fitted with the Safety roll bar, its an FE car with numbered plate. The seller may also have the original wheels too? might be worth enquiring?

Yes you're right 9 made 2 in the UK already

The Red Viper with Silver stripes you have found in your link looks amazing, can't believe the mileage either!

You would have spare cash for mods with that car

    Autoform front end, check
    Corsa rear exhaust, Check
    Belanger Headers, Check
    GT2 Rear wing, Check

    Mileage, unbelievable!
    Stock untouched interior.

One thing that you should be aware of.

The Stock Autoform Safety roll bar fitted to these cars limits seat travel, Im just shy of 6ft 2 inches. You lose the last rearward click on the seat travel and its hard to tilt back the seat. So it can feel a little cramped.

To get over this you need to fit a seat lowering kit to get better seat travel

If you wanted to sit in any of these cars (or mine) to check out seat positions drop me a PM with your contact number and we should be able to sort something out.

But its not a 2002 FE, it will have ABS. The FEs were Red with White stripes.

Same here as Luis. If you see something in the NYC or western CT area, I wouldn't mind having a look for you. Especially if it's a GTS!

Thanks Fatboy, I will send you over a PM now, it would be nice to hook up to come and see your car TBH, I must admit I would like a FE to go with my 2 Limited Edition Lotus's, they say 3 is the magic number, just need to convince my wife on that one though

I've been doing some digging regarding the FE Daytona GTS that is for sale and it looks like a good buy on the face of it, Maurice Liang knows of the car as it used to belong to a member in his club, below are a couple of pictures he took of the car back in 2011.

One thing I did notice on the pics of the advertised car is that it looks like a chunk is missing from the inside arch where it joins the splitter, does anyone know if this is easily fixed, also can the front splitter be easily replaced also as it looks a little marked?

Maurice Liang's Pictures minus the front splitter-

Looks like I've got a big decision to make

Yea, Get a 4 Blade diffuser See You Sunday

  9. #34
Yes the 4 Blade diffuser will be a given :-)

Just e-mailed Autoform to see if they can supply the part that is broken + a new front splitter if required.

Looking forward to tomorrow and seeing your car Mark, can you work your magic on my wife please as yesterday she did say that I am not having another car :-(

My car is off the road awaiting modifications, I will be there in my Vivaro Van,

  11. #36
If the weather is good I'll be in either the Elan or Exige, if rain is in the air though the van may get a run out unfortunately.

    See you tomorrow :-)

OOOHHHHH, thanks for posting sonicbloo, good to see her again :-)

Just had a quick look at the location, around 3 hours away from me, I very tempted to go and have a look. Certainly a good price and although it would be nice to be re-aquatinted I'm not sure it is the car for me nowadays as I really have my eye on the Daytona 91 based in California.

Thanks again though, I may give them a quick ring now.

Glad to help, let us know how you get on. Good to see the same plate on it too. Hopefully meet up sometime if we both get fixed up with cars!

What are you looking for in particular sonicbloo?

I have to admit after speaking to Lawton Brook yesterday I am quite keen to go and have a look, it is a great price and a car that really is close to my heart, I found all the letters and paperwork the other day from the late 90's that went back and forth with Hennessey and Steve Everritt who designed the kit, yes no e-mail back then :-)

I would still prefer the 91 car but this works out almost half the price, just need to figure out if I still like the look, not sure about the rear wing nowadays, a little OTT, still love the front end though.

I'm wanting a gen 3, I fell in lust with them instantly when I saw a silver one in Florida in April 2003 . It was being followed by a black RT/10, so after a quick U-Turn we chased them for a while down the road in our hired Dodge caravan, while my wife fumbled for the camcorder. We managed to get a minute or so of shaky footage, which I've watched hundreds of times since. Later the same day we went to the cruise at Old Town Kissimmee, and it turns out both cars were owned by the same person.

Back then it was just a wild dream, but now after the kids have grown up and I've just taken a deposit on one of my Mustangs, the dream is definitely on!

I bought the plate in my avatar last year, ready for the big day!

Excellent! Good luck with the search! A Gen 3 convertible would be a more economical route so if you prefer the design, so much the better! If you go with a coupe, then you might be at about the same price as a Gen 2 GTS. Either way....you'll love it... good luck!

I would be afraid of adding miles to a 13 year old highly collectible car with only 1,600 miles on it to date. Would stop me enjoying driving it tbh.

Good luck hunting down your perfect Viper sonicbloo, would you consider importing? really opens up the options, just a shame regarding import tax but no way around that one unfortunately.

Great plate btw, keep us posted.

Yes sometimes too low a mileage really is a bad thing, there are a couple of beautiful RT/10's around at the moment, a 1994 with only 493 miles on the clock, you just wouldn't want to use it though, amazing really how it has stayed so low,

    hi Vipers

I've imported 2 mustangs (in 1998 and 2005) from the US, and would do so again (I've already put feelers out with a contact in southern Florida) but the £/$ rate has gone against us Brits since August 2014 @ $1.71 - to today @ $1.49, so its not really the best time to import. Europe however is a totally different ballgame with the euro at a 8 year high.

If I had the cash, I would be importing the 2010 white Viper from Germany with only 2800 miles on it. http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat..._EXPORT&noec=1 Its been for sale for months at 74990 euro, which is £54000 at todays rate.

I like the look and price of this GTS in Austria at 38500 euro = £27800 http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat..._EXPORT&noec=1

Anyway, I'm getting my cash together and will update when I have more news

As I mentioned before, feel free to ask if you'd like me to look at a car... I live in Miami so I'd be happy to help with anything from West Palm Beach to Homestead Florida. I am in the middle and drive all day anyway... shooting out to see a car is always a pleasure.

I will, at the very least, give you a good/bad review before you have a tech look at the car....

    In any event.... good luck

If you want a better exchange rate then the USA, just look North to Canada. The British Pound is doing very good against our Canadian Dollar. I think it is around $1.88 and rising.
