Swaybar Link Replacement - Tool Question

I am planning to replace one of the rear sway bar attachment links due to a cracked dust boot. The shop manual calls for special tool MB991113 to separate the link from the sway bar. Now I am wondering if this specific puller is really needed or if any other similar puller can be used?

    Thanks!

Rent a kit from auto zone (etc). You don't need that specific part number but any similar one
