P/S Pulley installed

I just got a chance to install my new IPSCO Power steering pulley and bracket, the install was fairly easy considering I was replacing the power steering pump at the same time, due to it leaking and making noise. It looks really nice, but definitely out of place under the hood, but had to get rid of that ticking time bomb of a plastic pulley.

If a nice shiny part is 'out of place', you might need to spiffy up that 'under the hood' area.

Exactly what I was thinking, but I promised myself I would not get crazy modifying this car...So tempting...

Im installing a Moroso catch can/breather next..I got a good idea for a location and bracket.

Speaking of ticking time bombs...you should also install a vent tube on your PS cap and also check your crank damper bolt for tightness and mark it to ensure it doesn't loosen.

When I did my PS pulley and bracket install a few days ago, I discovered my crank damper bolt was loose...I unthreaded it by hand!

Glad you caught that! Did your bold have any paint markings on it? I've not checked the torque on my crank bolt, but the paint marks (assuming they are factory) are still fine.

The only marks on my bolt were the ones I put on there a couple days prior, before I checked to see how tight it was...they were misaligned, which is why I checked.

Bolt is 1 1/4". Supposed to be torqued to 250 ft lbs

I will check that, but how the heck are you supposed to TQ it to 250ft lbs???!?!??!?!??! a 3 foot long TQ wrench??

Nice, I just ordered one. I'm also considering the catch can and the oil pan baffle.

I didn't like the out of placeness of the shiny pulley, so I painted mine. It's held up great so far.

Which is probably more accurate? By the way I hear these harmonic balancers on these cars aren't the best. Anyone have an aftermarket?

I would order both the pulley and bracket because both are known to break/crack. I ordered mine directly from Ipsco. Nice guy to deal with and an a very nice product. Thinking about buying the rest of his pulleys now to further dress up my engine.

Note :If anyone is thinking of performing this operation, easy way is to have another person sitting in the drivers seat, car in gear and foot hard on the brake, You also must have SIX sided socket, otherwise you may round off the bolt head.
