Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.....these cars are unique and built this way for a reason....one sitting around with almost no miles isn't any better than one with 9K miles, maybe even in worst condition if not kept up and tires, etc....my $.02

One of the most beautiful Vipers ever built. Stunning!

^ Looks just like my car with a wing and dive planes.

Fatboy....you are thinking that when these came out they were selling at MSRP, WRONG, I think every dealer grabbed them up personally and also to put the good old supplemental sticker for about $35K more, many of these were over $125K, why ?? Because they are very nice looking cars and definitely collectible....this seems to be the only Viper selling for more than MSRP....even the 1992....my $.02

OK, Well surely that makes it worse, So you pay 125k back in 1998 and sell it today for 100-115k How does that make it an investment?

In my opinion that car looks like a Hot Wheels car that an 8 year old designed...Not my cup of tea and certainly wouldnt pay over 125K for 10 extra HP and some plastic ground effects..

Thinking back to 1998. You had Bright Silver, Viper Red and Stone White. For me, the only other Viper that year that I really like is the Bright Silver with the dual blue stripes, the Viper Red with the Silver stripes a distant 3rd (and red is my favorite color on a Viper). For me, the CE Championship Viper is stunning.

Didnt think it was possible to make the GTS-R any uglier, but congratulations on that one!!! What on earth were you thinking with that front bumper dude? The wing and the rear splitter are nice, but that front bumper...Bleeeehhhh...

Fatboy.....I never said that this car was an investment !!!! I said it was collectible, a big difference.....same with others , IF you can own a car and enjoy it and at some day get back close to what you paid, I would count your blessings !! How about your friend Neil, what did he pay for the #52 car, wasn't this about $130K for sale for quite a while because Justin Bell wanted to sell it ?? Back to my original statement , what Viper after 15 years can return the MSRP ? Even the 1992 isn't doing this (when the 92's came out they had many dealers asking at least $125K, some were asking $150K....) and they only built 289....but with these 1998 there are only 100........my $.02

Hey Pal, first off with that comment you have shown your level of expertise. Your opinion is your opinion, but that front bumper was the original bumper off the GTS R cars that raced and won during the 98-2000 years. It is a true functional bumper for its time and still is today. It was not conjured up by someone who knew nothing about concept but by people that know and race the cars. Steve from Autoform has designed and created body panels and designs for the Viper that some were ahead of their time. Its like asking Bill gates what he was thinking when he designed the computer back in 1980...lol....your obviously very narrow minded and uneducated. Again, your opinion is your opinion and this is a forum where it can be voiced, but, facts are facts and this fact is justified. The bumper is perfectly designed and makes the car look and run better than stock. IMO

Don't you just hate it when they make a street version of a race car look exactly like the race car when that was the whole point of the exercise?

It is funny that lots of Viper owners chase the race theme with wings, canards, lightweight wheels, blingy brakes they'll never use, stripes that were in vogue only in racing in the 50s, etc.

I just said the bumper was ugly, regardless of what it was used for on or off the race track. I just hate when the viper is made to look like some Honda out of Fast and Furious. You are correct, I may not know much about the racing history of the viper, and honestly dont care..I just like the Viper platform, sorry for voicing my opinion, Ill ask your permission next time I plan to..

Dude, give it a rest. Lots of different tastes on this forum, but it doesn't mean you need to run down someone else's car.

As slitherv points out he was "thinking " originality. Might want to brush up on Viper history before taking shots, particularly at a major vendor whose been around from the beginning and is well respected. It's fine if the look is not your cup of tea but ...

Except this Viper came out 3 years before Hondas in Fast and Furious.

Wow!...just looked at this again...thanks to everyone for having my back on this one. It sure would be nice if we can keep this forum void from negative comments like this...which thankfully for the most part it is.This is place for Viper owners to come and share information of both current things happening in the Viper world as well as what has happened in the past. I have been here living the history of Viper...many of my close friends are the ones who created and built this car...like it or not the Viper is a road racing inspired car. They have roll cages, wings, splitters, big brakes and many other things that work on the race track. I was heavily involved in the early club racing of Vipers...these parts were used at the track and worked....they are not just for looks...and I sold hundreds of them for both Racing and Street use. Please look back on history and appreciate it for what it is. Alot of this was many years ago now...styles and technology change...but...it happened and that can not be changed by some current Viper owners saying it was ugly or stupid. I think the current custodians of these cars should feel obligated to respect and understand the history of the car and why it was created and produced the way it was. I also tend to think the current era of owners will determine the fate of how these cars and the original owner demographic will be remembered...will they continue to be tastefully accessorized to keep the classic lines of the car on par with current sports car trends? will they only be restored to factory original?...or will they be mechanically modified to make them into Street racing killers and then be left for dead when a newer, faster and more cheaply modified platform comes along? I am proud of the part I have played so far. Obviously not everybody likes what I have done and that is okay with me...I tend to design and build what I like to see at the time as well as engineer parts that I think will make a car better and safer...I hoped that if others liked what I was doing they would support me and my business. Oh and speaking of that...Thank-you to all that have supported me and my business for the last 25 years and allowed Autoform to exist exclusively restoring, customizing and building aftermarket parts for Vipers...I guess I do a few things right!
I am probably up there with the hardest core, lifetime Viper guys that exist...but, I still respect and do what I can to help others turn their cars into what makes them happy...because in the end...I think that is the best return on investment.

Dude, chill, no one was taking a shot at what you do.You really didnt have to post a long winded reply on what you have done.. I can respect what you have done and different styles of vehicles..I personally just think that bumper is ugly and voiced my opinion, that is all...People need to stop reading into it too much and starting drama. I can respect all sort of modified cars for what they are, I also can have my opinion and should not have to endure everyone jumping on me cause I personally think a particular car is ugly.. That is intolerant of my opinion which by the way we all know what opinions are like. I personally would not pay for a GTS-R or lookalike vehicle, but thats just me. Sorry if I offended you, seriously people..Chill out..

Not taking a shot at what he does ? "Congratulations "on making the car uglier. Stop digging . "Dude" , " chill". Feel like I'm in a time warp.
