No, tips are fine, I believe it is stainless. It's not rusty just discolored and dirty. I'll try to get some pics.

Hit the pipes with some mild steel wool and then use something like Mothers steel polish

If your car stinks with no cats hire a better tuner.

Sorry. A 100+ post thread on an age old topic I never made it past halfway on page 1 and my comment was not specific to you but more so to someone on page one that referenced smell.

Hey, instead of opening yet another thread about this I thought I would just reply here. I am about to delete the cats, and have a few questions for preparation.

    1) How bad is the stink? like unbearable? I had a 93 mustang 5.0 with no cats and it REAKED of sulphur, but it was a 4 cyl to 8 cyl conversion so I am sure there was some bad tuning there. I have a 69 Pontiac with a 400 and obviously there are no cats, and sure there is a slight fuel smell, but not something that makes your eyes water.

    2) how did you hack it off? Like a sawz-all with a blade for steel?

    3) Why are there cat delete kits you guys speak of when it is just a 3 inch exhaust pipe with a reducer? What am I missing here?

    4) How many HP increase in general?

    1) Not bad at all In my opinion

    2) Saws all metal blade (be careful not to hit your paint!!)

    3) stock exhaust is 2.5" just get the proper length pipe flared at your local muffler shop. If you have a 3" aftermarket with reducers, there you go..

4)10 to 15 realistic, but it makes the exhaust note a bit deeper.

Yeah I have 3 inch exhaust and a 2.5 ID reducer. Just wondering what the hoopla was about cat delete kits. I like 10-15 hp...for freeeeee. Thanks for the info. I hope to get this done on my days offf

Cause Viper experts feel the need to make $100+ on $20 worth of pipe, because Viper owners are all multi millionaires of course.

Lol of course we all must be rich, we drive Vipers!! Riiiight....
I went catless on mine a couple weeks ago(along with headers and muffler delete etc) and I don't notice any 'horible sulpher stink'. And it sounds so much better now too. You will also notice a farily big difference in side sill temps too by getting those cats outta there. Mine are now cool to the touch with the cats and resonators out of the side sill.
