    WK2 Cherokee srt 8

Have a modded 08 F350 as a daily, never drive it and is a pain to drive around town when i do. Possibly in the market for a WK2 cherokee, not interested in the WK1 body style.

    Few questions:

How is the new A8? is it worth it over the 5 speed over 2012-2013?
Any pros or cons between the 2014 over 2012-2013

I'm more geared to the 2014 mainly for its increased tow capacity(7200lbs vs 5000), but i cant tell very much otherwise if any differences(u connect?)

Yup, im pretty set on the srt8, im just just trying to justify the $20k extra to get a 2014 over a 2013 and wondering if they tranny is really worth it and possible other differences between years.

I've driven the A8 2015 SRT, but not the older ones so I can't compare the two. However, I very much enjoyed the A8... I would say go for the 14, they really are amazing and deceptively quick.

It's interesting that pre 2014 the SRT with the 5 speed auto towing was only 5,000, where as the 2015 GC Overland with just the V6 we got for my wife is rated at 6,200. The new 8 speed is great.

I have the 2014 GC SRT w/ 8 speed. I love it. I wouldn't even consider the older 5 speed versions. Too bad you are in Canada as I am trading in this one when my Hellcat comes in. Has only 10K miles on it.

How much did they offer as a Trade In?

I may be interested in it.

52k. We get a sales tax transfer to the next car purchase of 6%. In this case it would be $3120.00. I would have to get 55K to break even on a private sale. Market seems to be 54-60K depending on options. Mine is loaded and stickered for $69965.00. Black/Black.

I owned several of the generations of jeeps (including the last 2) and I'd say there is a big difference even in the last 2. adding the 8 speed and all of the techno adds is awesome. Design changes are also better. There are also tiny little things they also did (surprisingly) throughout the car like LED lighting in certain places and stuff like that. I took a hit trading the 2012 but the 2014 is great. And I will say a HUGE difference in performance. The last jeep hopped off the line but wasn't too fast after that, especially on the highway. The 14 is MUCH faster at all speeds and pulls hard up to 120 or so. But much faster than the previous years especially at highway speeds. It was worth the hit in trading it, but if you're choosing between them flat out - the latest gen is the way to go.

Agreed. Have had a couple SRT8's myself and the A8 is phenomenal, not to mention the updated interior gadgetry, etc. I'd most certainly go for the 14'.
