    Wiper Blades

Has anyone replaced the wiper blades on a Gen 4 with anything beside the ones from Dodge? None of the regular wiper blade companies I've looked up show a compatible refill. The blade itself is tapered on the ends and looks to have a unique clip for the wiper arm, I'm just wondering if anyone has a trick to replace it with something else.

I'm used to the Viper tax, but ~$35 per blade seems a little ridiculous for something that goes for around $15 on a "regular" car.

I hear you. I've never use mine either, but the last time I washed the car I noticed the driver's side blade had a tear. And unfortunately in Texas, state inspection stations usually want to see your wipers work....inspection is due next month, so I need to replace it.

I'm 99% sure OEM is your only choice. I purchased some new blades for my old Gen III last spring and finally caved on overpriced mopar wiper blades. I thought for sure I could find the company who makes the blades (bosh or something) and get it for cheaper, but no luck. If it makes you feel better, I paid around $100 for both, so $35/blade isn't too bad.

$100, ouch! Yeah, I think the $35 per is on the low side and doesn't include shipping and/or tax.

Ha! Yeah me too. Easy to avoid the rain out here in Arizona though.

Actually had to use mine last year. Rain beat me home from a local car show.

FWIW, my OEM blades are now 6 years old and do a great job. Of course I RainX the hell out of the windshield too.

OK, here goes. I am not cheap, but I choked on the wiper blade price. Passenger side blade was torn. I removed the blade and used a box cutter to slice the old rubber off, then a wire wheel to get down to the metal. Bought a generic blade (2$) and cut the rubber off that. I work in aircraft and have access to some wicked silicone adhesives we use to bond rubber 777 door seals. Needless to say, a year later and the wiper is still mint. Here's the kicker. I drive my car a lot, rain or shine. After the repair we did a 4000 mile round trip to Key West and back with plenty of rain, esp across the everglades. See, there are always options if you dare.

just ordered drivers side from my dealer. They sold it to me for $32, not too bad considering the Viper tax from some dealers. The GEN3 oil filter was $12.
