Nambo, FLATOUT, and GenVer on Track.

This video was from our third session and has some great footage of Nambos car GenVer and Bill spinning off track. I learned a lot this session following Nambo and cut almost 10 seconds off my lap times in the fourth session. I was starting most of the straights in 3rd and Nambo was coming out in 2nd, you can see the huge gap he creates. The second time around the front straight when we passed the gen 2 I came out in second then wiffed the 2-3 shift like rookie.

Really cool to see all the gen V's in the beginning.

LOL @ the thumbs up to Bill. At least he picked a safe place to lose it

In my early sessions, I was also attempting to avoid 2nd gear. That didn't work so well, lol. Had more control, but was very slow on the exits of those hairpins. Pretty cool that this track uses gears 2-5. Such a wide range of speeds. At MSRH, I only use 3rd, but that is more of a traction limitation. I'll bet it can grab 2nd once some Hoosiers are on the car, on that back hairpin.

Haha! I'm a track newbie......but I had a blast. I was also using 3rd-4th and grabbing 5th on the back straight. I have the 5th gen 3.55 gears and with the t-56 trans 2nd seemed really low. The 19 & 20 wheels with Nitto Invos was not the greatest choice but I still had a ton of fun.

Great footage! Looks like COTA is a hell of a track! I'll have to make time to run it one day.

Great video! One thing I noticed at the 4 min mark, you both come onto the front straight, started out pulling pretty even, but when JD hit 4th man did he take off! Bad ***, but causing limp mode sucks :-(

Wish I could have been in your session...

    Bill,

I have a new set of gloss gunmetal gray Forgestar F14 wheels (18/19) sitting here at my shop, with your name on them. Great track wheels

Mark that's when I missed the 2-3 shift lol.

In earlier laps he was coming out in 2nd and I was in third there. On this lap I was up on him and was quick to come out in second. When the cars started rolling I was thinking in my head, yep 2nd gear was the way to go and then missed the shift HAHA I was pissed. And put the throttle tables back to stock and you won't see limp mode.

    Mark,

Do we know if our tuner modified the throttle tables?

You southern boys are lucky. Not only do you have a world class track but you get the weather to enjoy it too. Oh crap... The salt truck just drove by and woke up my daughter. See ya.

Salt truck??? What, like they come by and deliver salt so you don't have to go to the store and buy it? That's all I can figure. Sorry I gotta change out of my fleece. It's too warm and sunny for them today. You know how it is.

Andy I didn't know you had the first automatic gen 5 in the world? Two hands on the wheel the whole way around the track! Nice!

HAHA I always tend to overdo the shifting, and don't pay enough attention to the line. I'll get the line down and then start worrying about the other stuff and I usually end up much faster at the end of the day. There are three extra shifts in that video that I made later in the day and will next time and that will be all you need for that track. 2nd at T11, T15, and T20, maybe at T12, making four total. I'm looking forward to going back now that I am more familiar with the track.

That is a safe way to learn Andy, while there are quite a few 2nd gear opportunities on that smooth track its best to know where you are at all times before you start exploring handling limits!

I didn't start using 2nd gear until the 3rd session, myself. I also practiced my no-lift-shifts on that long straight, because I have to be ready for C7Z06s
