I saw that RSI had posted the other day about its new Coolant Hard Pipe Kit. I hardly ever leave the driveway without at least and extra upper and lower radiator hose (and a serpentine belt). I have been on too many trips where folks were left on side of the road for failures of one of those. The bad part is when you are a 3 to 9 day trip, storage space is at a premium, and I felt these would give me good reason to leave my spare hoses at home.
RSI is about 15 minutes from my house so I reached out to Will Hamblin and he put the first set in stock into my hands 7 days before leaving for CoTA. We had a small fitment issue with the upper, but Will got it immediately corrected and back to me in 3 days so I still had these on for the CoTA event.
I tracked these at CoTA for 3 sessions with success and not a single issue. I look forward to leaving my spares at home from now on. I think most of us have seen videos of the upper sucking flat under heavy RPMs, so this should remedy that as well.
A word to the wise if you buy these, make sure you turn the lower radiator hose up towards and almost touching the boot on the steering ram, otherwise when the motor torques over, you might very likely have the hard pipe torquing against the lower passenger A-arm.
And these are purty. However these are not cheap. But peace of mind is worth something as well. Sorry, was not crawling under the car to get bottom pics.
