That sucks. Do you use the system where you have to say why you want it or what it means? If so maybe you could say you're French and it is the accepted shorthand for "Fabrique Nationale" which literally means "National Factory." So you say that you're French but it's made in America and you wanted to give a nod to both of those things. Depends on who is checking over the paperwork but worth a shot I suppose if you want it. I'd try it.
