Russ Oasis has been racing his #98 Dodge Viper for a number of years. This season he finished in 2nd place overall in the GT-1 class national championship and 3rd overall in the Viper Racing League championship. We thought we would take the opportunity to let the Viper community know a little more about Russ with a short interview. So here is "4 Questions with Russ Oasis"!

How did you get involved with NARRA?

When the comp coupe was first announced by Dodge in 2002, I thought I'd like to buy one and bring it to Skip Thomas's "Viper Days." Of course, I was hooked immediately and have continued to race in this series as it blossomed from Viper Days, to the Viper Racing League, and now NARRA.

What is your favorite track and why?

VIR is my very favorite. It's almost as if each section of the track holds a different thrill. From charging up the climbing S's, to the launch out of Oak Tree down the back straight, to passing at the kink in the front straight, the entire track is one thrill after another. Add to that the lush and nature park surroundings, and it's like a 5 star summer camp for racers.

Tell us a little bit about your car.

I'm on my second comp coupe. My first was C-2, but in actuality, it was the first car released by the factory. It was a 2002 or 2003. When the SCCA World Challenge trim became available around 2006, I sold my first car and purchased the updated car with better aero, wing, and other incremental improvements. I'm still racing that car and it is still competitive.

What do you do for a living?

I've been in both the radio business and the advertising business since getting out of college. Most recently, I wrapped up my radio holdings by selling my last three stations. Yay....I have more time to play with Vipers on the greatest tracks in America!
