I'm just thrilled we are all starting to see these Viper out kicking ass again. This is how I remembered it when I was Slowhatch's age LOL.

No doubt that this last week has raised awareness of Viper potential. I have all sorts of Corvette friends asking me about Vipers now. Some even asking if they should trade up.

I think the Gen IV V NA combo will be a great race for a Paxton Gen III that makes from 700-750rwhp.
This my Gen4 setup similar to his drug a lot of 7xx rwhp centri cars.

I'm just glad Keith @ HPTuners stepped up to the plate with the tuning software...without that, the Gen 5 guys would be sitting there waiting on a Mopar PCM that will likely never happen, and the Gen 4 guys would be stuck with bolt-ons being the only option (not that a Gen 4/5 with bolt-ons doesn't kick ass as shown by these videos).

I meant no disrespect to anyone in my post about street racing. It seems many of people in this post track the shit out of their cars. And spend a lot on their cars to enjoy them. I do the same. But I lost a neice to someone who was out just out jacking around. We all know there's a time and a place for these things. If I die at the track that's on me, if someone kills my family member I have the right to my opinion. maybe a video of my brother might express my ideas better. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CkrwCZk5YUg

Kinda reminds me of when I tell people I have a motorcycle license. They always tell me about how people die, or they knew someone that got killed on a bike. I'm like NO WAY???? DOES THAT HAPPEN????

Like I said, your opinion isn't informing people of something new.

I completely understand. And while I wont say what we do is safe by any means, we usually try to make pulls in clear conditions, with parts of the pack blocking the front and the rear. I'm sorry for your loss.

I agree and I do feel like we mitigate risk as best we can. Usually very early in very small groups.

That Paxton Gen 3 viper is not making 800rwhp, or something is seriously wrong with it. Either way, it was not putting down 798rwhp on that first race with the Gen 4.......

    800rwhp in a Gen3 is a 140-142mph trapping car ALL day. With 650rwhp a Paxton Gen 3 is a 133-135mph car. A Gen 4 with 583 N/A rwhp would not trap any higher than 132mph.

Maybe the Gen 4 is putting down quite a bit more than 583rwhp, or the Gen 3's power was more like 658rwhp.

658? Why not 657 or 659? Serious question.

I disagree on the trap speed for a bolt on NA Gen IV or V. I would put Slowhatch's traps around 134-5ish and maybe even slightly higher in really good weather. His car is well driven, very light for a Gen IV (light driver, sidewinder II's), and no extra aero drag on the car at all. I think for an NA bolton car this is about the lightest and quickest model to build, similar to doing the same build on a Gen V track pack car.

Agreed. My Gen4 making the same power he has went 135.

Because that's what the majority of S/C Gen III's make. And there are so many of them making the same. Mine was 658, then 651 on the 3rd pull. I bet Tony's was right there too before he changed from the "cookie cutter" S/C setup to what he has now.

Joe wouldn't lie to me about the power that he's making. He's been running that combo on the car for years, I've seen it go from 700ish to 740, to the high 700s its at now.

I'm going to see if I can get him in here to chime in with whats all done. Who knows maybe he'll pony up a dyno sheet as well.

Trust me, I was more surprised than anyone by the outcome.

Maybe started 1 gear too high in the paxton car? He should of just strolled you otherwise.

Who knows what the deal is, but based on my years of highway runs, any car with OVER 200 rwhp more than another car (583 versus 798) with relatively the same weights (within a couple hundred pounds or so let's say), and gearing, aero etc. would really not even be a race at all from a 60+ roll on.

All the races were generally what I would have expected I guess, with exception of just that one. Just seemed to be way off.

Great vids! Gen 4&5's really seem to love HPTuners.
