How did the R888s do for you?

Yes my R888 review. I was VERY happy with them. Tons of grip and they seemed to come up to temp quickly. "Slightly" greasy but I was able to play with tire pressure to keep the car balanced. I would definitely recommend them for the road course duty.

Car looks awesome Andy! I have high hopes for the R888's in factory sizes.

I have gone to the F1 races at COTA all three years and I am desperate to run my Gen V there but could not make this event. What speeds were you hitting on the back straightaway? I am really looking forward to seeing some of the in-car videos from you guys. I'm really jealous!

I did not see what caused the guy in the ACR to get turned around. All I know is I came around the turn and there he was right in front of me facing the wrong direction. I got on the brakes and managed to avoid hitting him head on.

Nice pics! Those orange accents on the black really set off the car.

I was hitting 150-151 on the back straight, stock TA. Then VERY hard on the brakes, for the hairpin turn. Brakes never faded all day, and my wife and I were doing back to back sessions.

That's exactly what it looks like. I am assuming it just "looks like" that and ended up being ok as you guys haven't said otherwise.

Nice pics. Gorgeous car. Sounds like a great day.

The only accident that I heard of, was a Gen 2 ACR (gray color) that hit a wall on both ends of the car. Driver okay, car likely totaled.

I haven't check my video yet but usually hit upper 150's before jumping on the brakes and downshifting to 2nd for the hairpin. Always a gut check as to how far you push it there.

Ugh... Steel Grey & Graphite Gen 2 ACR was my dream car from my early 20s on...

Yes I believe Tony is still on the stock pads and brakes, I had zero issues with mine as well, only difference being I was running Motul and Parts Rack Stainless Lines.

Great pictures Andy, it was great putting a face to the name and really enjoyed our conversations. Thanks for the insights as well ;-)

For reference JD and I were seeing indicated low 170's coming into 12 in his TA, it just came off 11 so fricking hard it was a rocket! In Tyler's ACR we were seeing 164-166, I was breaking late when the track was clear and as others stated I was shocked at the lack of break issues, must have been that the rest of the track was easy on the brakes and had time to cool before each hairpin. I would have loved to be in the red group with you guys, but had to do yellow to be able to swap cars with JD and Tyler and still have time to cool, maybe next time ;-)

Following JD was what made me realize that if I didn't come out of there in 2nd I was going to lose about 5 car lengths on those straights. Our cars make similar power but he would get out on me hard at the beginning of the front straight and the back straight. Rookie mistake on my part I started coming out in second at the end of the day and my lap times improved quite a bit.

Likewise nice meeting you too Mark, I always enjoy talking to people that are pushing the platform.

Would like to hear any feedback from those running adjustable suspension on their Gen V's. Perhaps a separate thread so we don't clutter Andy's.

This is EXCELLENT news! It is just hard to believe that SRT would not give the Viper Stout brakes--whether Stoptech 2-piece rotors or Brembo rotors. Your experience and the experience of others at COTA supports use of the OEM setups for HPDE unless someone runs into a problem on a particular track or with their driving style.

I can vouch for JD's car that's all I'll say here.

Its currently covered in rubber chunk marks and dust lol. Car was running high 2.30's at COTA with an instructor on my first visit to this track. Nineball ran a 2.35 (in a stock TA, dude can flat out wheel), and Ben Keating ran 2.28-2.32 in his TA with headers tune, and his big brakes. Nambo's Hoosier tired Bolton Woodhouse car was in the 2.30's as well I believe (might have snuck into the 2.20's).

    I'm uploading the video now.
Gorgeous shots, man I love that car. Yesterday my dealer was asking me if I wanted to order a TA. I'm still thinking about it.

Track times! That always puts things into perspective for those of us who've never run at COTA. Looks like you guys were all cooking, nice job. Looking forward to more pics.
