This is my hometown track, where I went 10s in my Gen V. Looks like he shifted it well, it is a manual car. That trap speed though, WTH?

Are these things really duds, or what?

Not just duds but they are Ugly Dudleys!
He posted on Corvetteforum, he missed 3rd on that run. Here are his timeslips. Trap speeds are still slow, didn't clear 125. My Gen V traps 128-129 in this weather.

I'm guessing the Z06 numbers are hampered by warranty-conscious stock tuning and maybe a little bit of aero. Once the tuners figure it out, you'll probably see some better numbers.
Wow, my gen3 on run flats ran better than that and 125mph traps.
What altitude?
I'm not a vette looks fan, but always respect the perf, this seems really disappointing in that regard.
Looks like Baytown (Houston Raceway Park), so altitude is ~zero.
This explains the Z06 "heat soak" theory, but not necessarily the reasoning behind slow trap speeds. It's still reasonable to assume it has something to do with the stock tuning if Chevy is worried about warranty claims.

Tony,
When are you going to have a go at 10's stock in the TA? Wheeler already modded his, so he's out.
Density Altitude was -9 ft, so good weather.
The aero is not slowing the car down. The rear aero (especially the rear "barn door" as many on the Corvette Forum are calling it) spoiler is not slowing the car down in the quarter mile. The wide front aero can actually help with less drag and turbulence (real race cars have fenders that stick out 2" to 3" past the outside sidewall of the tire. You can't tell on TV, but look at either Nascar or NHRA Funny Cars or Pro Stock cars....the tires are way inside the outside of the fenders outside edge. The aero is not the issue. The Corvette crowd (and many here) have no clue how aero actually works, especially on the rear of the car. NHRA and equivalent funny cars use a ton of vertical type aero devices on the rear of the car since it helps with down force and can actually reduce drag.
Let's face is, Santa brought a lump of coal to the Corvette world for Xmas.
at 124-125, that car can't be putting out 650. Chevy might have a future problems with ZO6 owners.
Man I'd be pissed.
Cue Steiner and Krebs...

Acrs trap higher with much more aero and 'less' hp
Trap speed is low, and the driver is decent as he has run his '14 C7 in the 11s at 119 mph.
Where are the 580 rwhp these cars are laying down on the dynos going?
These new Z06's are heavy! RideTech scaled their Z07 today. It works out to being 221 lbs heavier than my Gen 5 Viper. DAMN.

Wow!! thanks for posting, that's a pretty balance car almost 50/50
They look very weak in person. When I first saw the reveal I was floored. Very aggressive and sharp looking. After seeing two in person I am grossly disappointed in appearance. I'm not sure if GM just hit the angles right on the photos or if it's simply photogenic, but it did not look good.
