Thread: Mod results?

    Mod results?

Who is over 600hp, what did it take you to get there? Dyno results and track MPH as well if possible. Also where did you buy from, and who tuned it?

Made 607whp. Belanger headers (no cats) with 3 inch catback, pulley, intakes and tune. Exhaust bought from Mark at woodhouse and tuned by Torrie.

Just a crank pulley from Ipsco. Google it for the number.

Is that equivalent to US 93 octane ? If so and everything is equal it should be relative

new cars have a 6 year smog exemption. if you need a smog with mods, most speed shops can send you to friendly smog station. if you are in socal, i can help you.

does the pulley add any HP? does the intake add any HP? i was asking another tuner/vendor on this forum and he says the power is going to come from the exhaust and tune. said the pulley and intake buy themselves didn't add HP. Just asking

A good calibration gains the most, CAI added 12WHP on my car.

I'm confident I'm at the 600whp level on a DJ. I'm running full Balanger exhaust with HF cats and a custom tune. Car made 560/510 on a Mustang. Stock was 524/471, and my car made around 10 more whp than other stockers on this same dyno. All mods and tuning installed by Woodhouse.

So correct me if I'm wrong.

Tuning will add a legit 30-40rwhp?
    intake adds roughly 10rwhp?
    headers only add 10rwhp?
    pulley?

Seems like most cars make 530-540 stock, then 570 with a tune. 580-590 with tune and intake. Then it takes a pulley and headers to get over 600whp?

Cars are seeing 60whp from exhaust and tune alone. How much it puts down simply depends in the dyno.

We have header only cars that make 25+ at the tire with the crappy factory 9.5/1 tune so with the tune the total is 60+ and those are all dyno number which mean little on the road, believe me if you drive a stocker and then one with just the Belangers there is a BIG difference in power on the road so NO they are not worth just 10hp.

Do you guys offer those mods and install while still retaining the factory warranty?

Exhaust is generally a non issue, but when you mess with the tune you are flashing the PCM and there is a trail of the number of flashed so warranty can be jeopardized no matter where you have it done. This will not entirely void a warranty though for the whole car. Sometimes you have to be ready to pay to play.

    Hi Mark,
How's the in-cabin drone like with the full Belanger set-up : Headers + H/F cats and mufflers ?
Can you comment on muffler choices, Belanger vs Corsa vs stock ?
I want to do a Tune + Headers in the Spring

I'm thinking of doing the Bad Boyzz headers, then building the rest of the exhaust and use Borla or Burns 3" mufflers. Anybody have any reasons to choose BB vs AR headers?

I would not suggest the stock mufflers with headers, the engine moves around ALOT and without a flex pipe and front exhaust hanger it can rattle in the sill especially at idle or just off idle. The Corsa sounds the same as they always have and the drone is less than the Belanger, but there is still some drone. The Belanger is the deepest sounding and most lately have been preferring it although if they have had Corsa in the past they are likely to stick with it. There is more drone with the Belanger but unless you take long trips you may never care because the sound is awesome. Drone also depends with either at what speeds and gears you drive the most because it is worse in one place than another.

If I had to choose between just those two options I would get the BB headers for sure.
