Ouch. Might be worse than losing to a Viper?

I remember what it was like after I had received my Viper and all of the shlt started hitting the fan. Late deliveries, Motor Trend trashed us, previous Gen owners trashed us, it was a drag.

I feel for Corvette nation, not a good week for those guys.

I liked your "politically correct" post. I'll bet you were laughing your ass off while typing it...

So the guy is stuck in the middle of the road and asking for help and some douchebag starts being a wise ass. Not a fan of the new vette but still don't want to see someone get stuck in that situation. If he was in Florida some snowbird would have already plowed into him. Thankfully for the most part people on this site will actually help you first, then bust your balls when you are
safe. Good luck to him. Now trade that ugly thing in on a nice new Viper!

I'm totally lost why someone would find this funny.

I hate to see problems with Vettes or Vipers. Gen V Vipers have had there share of serious problems lately. I have strong ties to the US auto industry and the Detroit area. I want to see both cars succeed. In the end it's makes them both better.

Sucks for him - I'd be displeased after dropping $80k plus and that happening .

Are you sure it isn't just so slow it just looks like it is stalled? I have been fooled before by Vettes that I thought were stalled but we're actually running just fine.

Car heat soaked, ECU pulled ALL the timing.

    Ho Ho Ho

Shame it was not Towed off the freeway by a Viper

I would have thought the car would have roadside assist for events like this. On a more serious note If I see a Sports car owner broken down I normally stop to see if I can help, sometimes it can be the smallest thing like your cell phone battery dieing and you can't make that recovery call

Do the Gen V Vipers come with a emergency link to Dodge should you have a problem? Does the Corvette have the same thing?

Most higher end GM cars including the Vette come with OnStar that allows you to call for help at a touch of a button. The only time I ever used it on my C6 Z06 I pressed it just to see what would happen. A lady come on and asked how she could help me.

I don't think a Gen V has anything like that but I could be wrong. I've been looking at Gen V's but it's not an option that would make me buy or pass on a car.

Yeah, I'd be pretty pissed if that happened to me. The clowns acting like jerks when he was basically posting live for help, that was lame. He did take my advice and used the OnStar button, they sent a flatbed for him. We can joke about it now, but I wouldn't while it was going on. I hope he shares what the dealership finds.

Sure; but, glitches are common for any new model car, especially now when there is software running the whole show. I've been in the manufacturing business 30 years, testing high reliability hardware. I would not be surprised in the least about defects coming off a production line. It wouldn't make me happy; but, stuff happens on any production line. It is how the manufacturer responds that is the key.

If you want to be on the bleeding edge... yep, then sometimes you bleed. Just set expectations accordingly.
