    Tonys TA is stock.

So I wonder how down force played into this. Was that a Z07 packaged car ? I suppose the track pack car that trapped 132 would have done even better against the Z06.

A couple of years ago SRT had a huge amount of egg on their face after the Motor Trend review of the Gen 5 GTS at Laguna Seca....so much so, that SRT quickly went back to the drawing board and produced the Gen 5 TA in record time.

Now it appears that GM will be in the same position....the internet buzz and backlash of the heat soak issue will undoubtedly produce a C7 ZO6 2.0 withing 3 months, lol.

The next 6 months should be very interesting in regards to what GM will do and how Dodge will counter back.

    Wasn't a full aero Z06

One thing I did not appreciate about my supercharged SRT-6. Was a blast when cool, but you could definitely feel the heat soak and reduced power after a few pulls.

I'll start a much deserved new thread.

It was a base Z06, with similar aero as the TA. Small rear spoiler, small front splitter.

Even heat soaked, his car put down 560 rwhp on a Mustang dyno. It did hang a little better on the 1st two runs. Then it was game over.

Not sure how much benefit an aggressive track rat would get from the extra aero and brakes on the Z06/07 when it needs to be dialed back shortly after you get the tires up to track temps. The tracks that have the high speed corners that could best take advantage of the aero are also the tracks that have the high speed straights that will heat soak the engines quickest. If they don't fix this problem I'm unlikely to ever see one on my fast home track running at speed... and I could be posting the next epic Z06 take down video. And jeez, I'd hate to do that

I'm sure an aftermarket company will offer a proper heat exchanger that will hopefully help resolve the issue.
Why doesn't somebody start making a bigger blower that doesn't need to spin so fast? Even the ZR1 still has no aftermarket support for that. All you can do is port your blower for minimal gains, or go turbo.

I would guess because of the low production numbers...~4,700 made between 2009-2013. Production started out decent (1,400-ish the first year and nearly 1,600-ish the second), but really fell off over the last three years of the run (806, 404, and 482 made respectively).

Forgive me if I'm wrong, I don't pay too much attention to Chevy junk. But doesn't the CTS-V run the same heads and block as the ZR1? Same kit could fit that car too, although there probably isn't a high percentage of Caddy owners souping up their rides.

It looks like you can swap the LS9 blower onto an LSA with a snout swap to account for the different accessory drives, so yes, it would likely work for both platforms (although the LSA in the CTS-V isn't built as stout as the LS9).

I first wanted to sell the viper but after the overheating problems Randy had at my home track Road Atlanta I have decided to hold on to it. I am really concerned the car overheated on the so called 85 degree day. It was more like 78 degrees there that day. I have ran many events at Rd atl in the summer with 100 degree days with 100% humidity. If that car struggled on the nice October day it was tested boy am I in trouble.

    My plan:

Compare both cars back to back at Rd atlanta as soon as I can get a day for it.
    Sell the loser car.

Anyhow just thought I would through it out there and will report back with a good video and write up when I can. (traveling out of the country for next few weeks.
Holy crap lawdogg, I just read on the Corvette forum that your C7 Z06 engine blew. Man, sorry about the troubles. I just replaced my Camaro's engine and finally got it back on track. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Lawdogg sorry to hear about your engine blowing up. I saw your post on the C7Z06 forum. GM acted fast with a replacement motor. Really glad they're taking care of the situation. Anyhow looking forward to your comparison on the track..

Hard to believe but the Z06 forum Is worse than the alley. People are trying to get his warranty claim denied by being Internet sleuths. Why? Clearly a GM product would only fail if it is abused.

I saw your post saying that you are selling the Viper. Did you decide to keep the Z06...or is there something else on the way? Curious what was behind the reason to sell the Viper, and almost before even receiving the Z06. Do you plan to track the Z06 much, and are the Z06 track issues resolved to your satisfaction, or are likely to be? A friend of mine is struggling with C7 Z51 issues at the track and is frustrated as to what to do. He's seen my TA running hard and trouble-free in 100 f temps and wishes his would as well. Thanks.

Lawdog always seemed to like the Z06 better even after he grenade the motor just after taking delivery. Not sure why but hey I guess you like what you like. I'd never take a step back from a Viper to a Vette at this point.
