Hi, I just joined. I bought a modified '96 GTS last week and really want to meet up with some other viper owners near Charlotte, NC. I haven't lived in Charlotte all of my life so I don't know what clubs or associations are around here, or where the car meets and hangouts are. I hope to meet up with you guys!

Hello Lemur, welcome to the VOA! I'm close to Hickory, so not too far from you. You're gonna find that the Carolinas region is quite active with plenty of opportunities to meet up. Beyond our big scheduled events for the region (which we're still finalizing), there will be opportunities for some of us more local members (in your case Charlotte area, Western NC) to get together for lunches, a cruise, car shows, etc. Of course, there's always Charlotte Cars and Coffee held on the 1st Saturday of every month. I know Ron is itching to get his Carbon Gen V out and about so maybe C&C will work out for Februrary (weather didn't cooperate in January).

I'm not ready to take the viper to the dragon yet, I did it in my s2000 and felt comfortable pushing the limits, but I think I'd go over the edge in the viper I bought the car in Vegas and drove it home. It has a full Belanger exhaust with no cats (still need to get under to verify but it sounds like it), and then supposedly a lightweight flywheel, ported/polished heads done by the original owner, and TD roller rockers. It also has 5 point simpson harnesses, but I'm not sure if those came with it stock or not.

I did add cars and coffee to my calendar. Im a night owl but I will try to get up early for it. I'll come out to pretty much any meetup within 30 minutes, and once and awhilee I don't mind driving an hour or two for something special. I'm not ready for the tail of the dragon yet lol.

I'm very excited because we're really starting to get more Vipers in the Western NC/Charlotte area; we've had a number of new signups for "local" members over the past month or two! Our region covers two states and we've got members from all over - really a great group of people and you'll find that we are quite active. In fact, we have our first event coming up in two weeks:
