I feel like i'm taking crazy pills!

2001: The first of the new-era Z06es drops. How does it stack up to the Viper?

Dodge Viper: Faster. More powerful. Bad interior. Heavier. More expensive.

Corvette Z06 (top trim): Lighter. Less powerful. More livable interior (couldn't bring myself to call a C5's interior "good"). Slower. Cheaper.

    Now let's look at 2014:

Dodge Viper: Slower. Less powerful. Awesome interior. Lighter. Less expensive.

Corvette Z06 Z07 Stage 3: Faster. More powerful. Bad interior. Heavier. More expensive.

I wouldn't say it's faster yet. The first tests out by Motor Trend show it trapping 3mph less than the Viper and being within a tenth in ET. Road course numbers? It had to come into the pits after 4 laps due to oil temps being too high lol.

No rag numbers have been released yet - so how is it faster? 0-60 times with the A8 are smoking but who cares with a track car?

Plus, Chevy has had 3 years lead from when the Gen V was debuted to getting it out the door - I'd hope they can produce something solid.

Unfortunately, I feel like the bench racers of the world do influence popular opinion about cars and a favorable popular opinion might drive sales.
