    Rear bumper question

Will a gen 1 rear bumper fit on a gen 2? I'm converting to side exhaust and want to get rid of the center hole where the original rear exit exhaust dumped out.

    I believe it will.

From my understanding it would, however wouldn't it be cheaper to just have a body shop fill it? I suppose if you already have the bumper, or don't want the car in the shop it would be a better option.

I converted my Gen 1 to Gen 2 rear exhaust; it was quieter, gained power, didn't exit near your right ear, no drone... If you go aftermarket side pipe exhaust, it may be not just loud but annoying. However, to help you, I have the side pipe turnouts from a Hennessey exhaust (two foot length that you'll need to finish both ends, but stainless steel and has the pin that goes through the rubber mount ) and beat-up Gen 1 side sill covers you could use as a practice set up for cheap.

You could always get a rear diffuser from Steve at Autoform, they come with or without rear cut out holes It would then cover over your existing hole

Or...we make this neat little Exhaust hole block off cover...I don't have a name...I just made that up...I actually forgot I made them until I saw this.

I believe...well I know... that there are two different Exhaust holes sizes dependent on year... with different radius is the corners. Yes I learned that the hard way by custom making a part for a customer....painting and striping it. I sent it to him all happy with our work...only to find him upset with me that it didn't fit.
