    Stock exhaust-How much?

How much would it cost to buy the parts for a stock exhaust system for a Gen II GTS viper (Headers, Cats, mid, tips, etc.)?

How much to install it at a shop, generally?

    Thanks.

    Hi
I have a complete exhaust system of my 2001 ACR for sale for $600.00. Including cats. The system was removed with 20000 miles. PM me, if you interested.

There are plenty of people that will give you the stock system for free. Just find somebody local. Figure 3-5 hours (hourly rate) to remove and install but it can be done easily in your garage.

I (and many others) don't like the sound of the stock exhaust. It's not real aggressive.

If you do buy one, installing it is just a matter of using new/good header gaskets and high temp RTV gasket maker (O2 sensor safe) between the primary tubes and the collectors and between the collectors and the turn-outs. Installing the parts using the hardware and hangers on the viper. A torque wrench is needed for correct torque requirements for the header bolts and flange bolts. I doubt any welding needs to be done if you're picking up an intact OE system. Good luck.

One tip - some of the hanging points may be missing depending on who did the swap. The rubber bumpers near the turnouts where the first hanger is supposed to rest had been removed from mine when I brought it back to factory earlier this year. Dodge doesn't have the long flange bolt which mounts the rubber anymore so I had to use a regular bolt with spacers (I eventually did find a set of OEM bolts that I'm going to swap out next time I have the sills off). If you're not familiar with the area, the rubber piece in front is the same as those used elswhere - single hole in the middle - just look at one of the other hangers.

Because the OEM stuff has a flex pipe, you'll want to check if you need to buy any of the hanger hardware cause you won't be able to finish without it.(Aftermarket systems like Belanger didn't use that front hanger since there was no flex pipe - so it may have been removed)

I sold my stock cat back to a local redneck for $100. He was going to Jerry rig it onto his car
