Whats the TA makin for power?
Some GTR owners are butt hurt over at that forum, especially the ones who talked trash about the introduction of the gen v
No doubt his thread is the best incentive possible for a Gen 5 owner to do a full bolt on and tune. Come spring I know mine will get done. Thanks for posting!
The other thing we need is to get some more semi-pros interested. I remember years ago, there was some guy on Corvette forum, his handle was like Wrangler or Ranger or something. Dude was a drag deity, threw down a confirmed 10-second range time in a bone stock 2006 Z06, had the (as far as anyone knew) stock-on-stock-tires world record for a Ford GT for a while, was just an absolute beast, did hundreds and hundreds of passes in each car, listened to MP3's of the exhaust audio to tell when he f-ed up, etc.. We need more people like that interested in the brand. As nice as it is to have general owners dragging the cars, the impressive numbers come from people like that, not from guys who hit the strip 3 times a summer for $80 worth of passes at a go.I think if more Viper owners focused on drag racing people would realize just how capable they are in that environment.
Agree, I think you are right. The guys screen name is Ranger and he is the same person who started encouraging the Corvette guys to use a turkey baster to swap out their clutch fluid on a regular basis to avoid their clutch pedal from dropping to the floor after a couple back to back passes. "The Ranger Method"
Sigh.. so much for leaving mine stock....
awesome race and congrats on the new found power. i'm excited to see whats next.
Impressive. Some good driving as well.
Thanks for getting this compare done. I thought you would get 3 lengths 60-130 mph. but looks like you put 5-6 on him. That equates to about 100-120 hp increase real world not just dyno numbers. Great job representing the Gen V.
PDV and I will also be getting some 60-130 times to compare. I have cats and no UD pulley, but our power gains over stock are quite similar. The 60-130 times will tell us a lot.
Ranger is anything but a pro or semi pro, but I understand your point. I used to race with him in my corvette days at MIR and Capitol. He just always made sure to be at the track when weather was perfect. Jamie Furman was the real stud out there.
