Not feeling, having fuel door match "wheels" (matte black fuel door on white body?), if anything it should be factory option to be body color matched. IMHO

Out of all the new FCA cars there, he felt the ACR concept was his favorite.

Car looked fantastic, but I gotta say that the Mopar booth is always one of the darkest in the whole show. Needs to get a lot of major lighting in there IMO.

Tomorrow at 4:26 pm (Get it??....lol) there will be the Mopar press conference. It looks like they will be announcing a new sponsorship of a NHRA funny car plus other goodies. Wish I could be there to see what gets announced.

If we want this ACR to come to market, we really need to keep the interest and demand up.
What else needs to be done? Social media blew up the week Mark teased us with the stripes and interest has remained high. Hell, it was one of the most viewed threads on the VOA. That's gotta count for something right?

Also huge on a bunch of other forums, instagram, Reddit, etc. This is the most positive publicity the Gen V has EVER had. This thing needs to roll down Connor Ave. yesterday.

    Build it

I can't really report on much else because what you see is pretty much what you get at this point. Suspension is not anything special, just some coilovers to lower the car for looks according to Mark. Didn't see anything in the hood vents that was out of place. My gut says it really is a concept with nothing cast in stone regarding performance upgrades.

I really think this is where SRT needs to keep the ACR option in social media, etc and we the potential buying public need to keep on them to build it. It would also help if FCA came out and stated that they would not be holding back the ACR to help protect the Ferrari performance figures. I never liked the fact that it was stated at the 2012 Gen 5 launch in NY City that the Viper can't be more powerful than the F12. Bullshit....build the best you can and let the chips fall where they may. It will strengthen the entire FCA line.

It would really help if SRT would give us some input regarding what they're thinking of putting on the car so we could voice opinions, etc. Maybe that would help them put onto the car what the market wants. For example, the suspension should be full coilovers and manually adjustable, just like the last ACR. After seeing the Ohlins set up BBG has built for the Vipers, SRT would be crazy not to put a set through their paces as a potential suspension for the Gen 5 ACR. Regarding brakes, have both steel and carbon ceramics as options. Of course, those are my opinions, but we need to voice our wants and hopefully SRT will give us the options that are being asked for.

Thanks for your reports. I really wish they had, and expressed, more commitment to the future of the car... a determination that they are going to make it a success no matter what. Without that they are just breeding uncertainty, and fueling speculation that the car won't survive. That lack of confidence has to affect sales. If they don't fully believe in their own ability to make it viable, and move forward with a fierce determination to right the mistakes of the past, then their fears are more likely to become reality. Tim started it by saying sales had to double, and now they've spent their time on an ACR "concept" and are looking for feedback. It seems like the same tried and true ACR formula that they used in the past, and could anticipate similar results. Why not say we're going to build it...how do you like it? Then assess that feedback.

maybe we should rally out front of the plant for the acr

Love the CCB's they just need some matching Trofeo R's to make the most of it. It would be nice to see a titanium exhaust for it as well as that will be around an easy 35-40lb weight saving on top of what ever other ACR-ish weight savings even if its just an option. Options are great. Build what they want, market and price it right and you should have a winner.

Acura asked prospective buyers to place a deposit 3(?) years ago on the new NSX to determine if there was sufficient demand for the car to be built. Two friends did just that ($8k iirc) with NSX price unknown, but est to be $85-100k. Maybe Tim should try that too. Both friends bought C7's during the long wait, but left their refundable deposits in place.

I look at it this way! If the dodge boys can't figure out on their own that they need to build it, then there is no point. A blind man on a galloping horse can see it would be a winner. Add more power and it becomes even more clear.

    Totally agree on all accounts

EDIT: I'd still like the CCBs as options, so if someone wanted steel brakes they wouldn't have to pay the extra cashola for the CCBs. Still undecided on that subject myself.

I don't believe that Dodge would put a supercharger on a mainly track oriented car. Too much heat soak on the intercooler after a few short laps pulling down power.

This ACR option is what many of our clients are looking for. Ground effects and carbon brakes will make this a good limited model. The previous ACR is the first choice for all our track orientated clients who want a street legal car that really works at the track.

Build it and they will come.

They could make a "poser" option. Put the S/C in that.

Really though, I agree and would expect them to keep it N/A for track duty.

More likely is that they would add the proper equipment needed to keep the car operating at 100 percent for 20 min sessions on 100 degree days, like the Hellcat bros. This would come at a hefty weight penalty though..
