I concur. Options make for a wider audience to be satisfied. It would be great to have the ACR with steel brakes, reg exhaust, TF R's, AC/radio standard etc which would be more affordable...Then have the options a la carte style and NOT grouped options that would exclude the ability to pick and choose your own option packages.

Options could be the Ti exhaust, CCB's, DCT (DCT is a pipe dream for this gen but just threw it in there anyway lol), hardcore package (AC/Radio/sound deadening delete etc), maybe even a roll cage a la European GT3 etc, also interior and exterior accent pieces be it Carbon Fiber or color matched pieces just to add some personalization. No more racing program so they should have the funds to make all or some of this happen.

I'm not worried about the performance around the roadcourse. Dodge has proven themselves in that dept in spades. I'm worried about everything else like marketing/pricing etc though lol.

I have a feeling they're going to avoid making any promises about the ACR being produced until after the existing inventory is mostly gone. Things are looking good, though.

People keep mentioning the drama around anti-ACR people at FCA due to the potential conflict with Ferrari. Well, now that Ferrari is going to be spun off, that will go away and the conflict will be gone. To fill that conflict vacuum will be competition with Ferrari - exactly what Ferrari wanted to avoid while being a part of FCA. That is a very good sign for pro-ACR people.

Once stagnant inventory is gone, I agree with others that the best thing they can do to gauge interest and put production on the fast-track is to accept deposits. Make the deposits refundable until the order system is ready to take orders, and then make them non-refundable once people choose their options and get sold-orders into the system. A nice touch would be to reward people that put their cash at risk by giving them a "no hassle" price point. We've all seen how early adopters have gotten screwed by being the first to buy... If they did a "no hassle" pricing of, say, dealer invoice plus $1000 for the people who are willing to plunk down a deposit years before they can get the car, I'd be one of the people writing a check.

Well, I guess since there was so many complaints about the marketing they decided to go with the tride and true format of selling.

Yep...He is well known on the highend forums. To have him drool over the ACR like this possibly bodes well for the ACR's appeal to that demographic. I really hope the sweet interior touches like the competition flag motif on the doors, alcantara everything etc make it to production. Yes its a Dodge and its an ACR but it doesnt have to ever go back to having a plain plastic interior, uninspired interior etc. I love everything about this car and we dont even know the performance specs yet lol. Cant wait to see the color combo's. Build it Dodge.

This. I agree. Dodge needs people to buy the cars. What I see on these forums are a good amount of cheerleaders but not a lot of people actually walking the walk. I commend the guy's that took a chance and bought the Gen V cars right out of the gate. I also appreciate the people that really "support" the products by actually buying them. I read all these posts by people saying "do this", or "put this on it", yet they never actually pony up when it comes time to buy. You want Dodge to keep building Vipers....buy a new one.

I wonder why they didn't go with a wide body version similar to the GT3-R. I am sure the line up to purchase would be a mile long.

Probably for the same reason they didn't do it for the Gen IV or Gen II ACR's. I think a widebody would cost a bit more in tooling for a limited production model within a limited production lineup already.

Gen IV evolved much more than the shocks/intake tubes and wheels Gen II. At some point the ACR should evolve from suspension/brakes/wheels & bolt on aero.
I love this concept! But when I stare at my GT3-R & GTS-R desktop background on 3 monitors all day long, it sure makes the ACR (II, IV and V concept) look tame though!

I agree, and also wish it would go that route I just don't see it happening.

If they don't have the tooling/molds to make the body of the GT3R, how did they make the ones that currently exist? Couldn't they expand on that?
