    Bleeding clutch

How difficult is it to bleed the clutch on a Gen 4 car? Where is the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder?

Not a a hard job. It does take two people. The bleeder is on the drivers side of the trans in the same area as the braided line from the clutch master cylinder. The bleeder takes a 11mm wrench and it does make a bit of a mess as you bleed it. Start by emptying the reservoir and wiping it out with a clean cloth. Refill with fresh Dot 4 brake/clutch fluid. Then bleed as you would if you were doing brakes except it will take more pumping to rebuild pressure (up to 25 stokes of the clutch pedal) I usually find about 6 cycles will get clean fluid coming out of the slave cylinder.
Interesting note the new fluid is heavier then the old dirty fluid. If your fluid is very dirty when you refill the reservoir with clean fluid if you watch you can see the dirty fluid rise out of the bottom of the reservoir and exchange with the new fluid.

Do what he said till it comes time to do all that pumping. Buy a Mighty Vac and suck it out from the fitting. Much simpler. Just do NOT let the reservoir go dry during the process.

DOT 4. And get some good fluid, Motul 600 is widely used here, but I am transitioning to this fluid with better temps next week.

    Use DOT 4 for both.

The clutch fluid can also be bled with a Motive Power Bleeder if you are clever...doesn't make the job any less messy, but it does keep it a one person affair.

The Chrysler DOT 4 Brake and clutch fluid is very good. And yes you can use it for both the brake and clutch systems.
Pumping the systems or using a vacuum system is a personal preference. I find I get better results with having a helper pump the brakes and clutch for me.

Clutch fluid is worth doing on a regular basis , it can get pretty dirty . 6 Hard launches at the drag strip on new fluid and it becomes dark . fwiw
