I have an 06 coupe. Nothing done to it other than the exhaust , so its not a matter of messing with the electrical. But for whatever reason about 5 mins after locking my car, the factory car alarm goes off. I've been needing a new battery and figured this was a sign that it was a low battery charge , so i went out and changed it with a brand new one and its doing the same thing. I noticed it started doing it after I washed it, but I haven't done anything different than the past hundred times I washed it. Im lost and dont know what it could be. Thanks for any input.

Check the hood switch...may need a shim.

You mentioned it started AFTER you washed it so I suspect some water got into the alarm electrical connection.

Thanks guys. Definitely something to do with the hood latch. Opened and closed the hood a few times. Finally stopped doing it. Thanks.
