    NEW Dodge Commercial WITH VIPER!

Looks like things might be changing. It's a start!

    http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php...s-horace-dodge

"John and Horace Dodge battle it out in a century-long car chase that takes them through the history of the brands most celebrated automobiles, culminating in an epic duel between the latest cars to continue the Dodge legacy.”

"The ad breaks tonight during Jimmy Kimmel Live, and will also run this week during The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show with David Letterman, among other shows (including sports and prime time broadcasts)."

A buddy of mine asked me why the red Corvette split them at the end. Couldn't they have used a car with stripes? LOL

Thanks for posting the link Randall, your right, its a START, but as Nine Ball posted above the sad part is most of the motoring public (not us) don't know what the car is.

All I saw at the end of that advert was the word "Challenger" The advert could also be viewed in another light showing all the old cars Dodge used to make!

Hate being negative, but we really need to see VIPER name posted LOUD AND CLEAR.

    I disagree Fatboy 18.

Part of the humor is seeing John and Horace's faces when the Viper passes.... What the hell was that, a Viper?

Sometimes it doesn't have to be spoon fed to the public. And if a person can't see the difference between a Viper and Corvette, they aren't interested in either one to begin with.

Love the commercial and I agree with Vipersmith - good things await!

Who will be the first crybaby to mention that they had the viper go in the opposite direction unlike all the other cars because the hellcat out powers it?

You I guess. But let's face it, probably true, but then, who cares at this point. I was kind of hoping they'd go into a turn & one of them would drive past the other on a turn in a viper, but hey, this is great to start, it's nice to just have it in a commercial.

I do wish they put the viper name in there somewhere ... I do believe the public needs to be spoon fed, 9 outta 10 people who comment on my car think they don't make it anymore. But this is awesome and what I was hoping for, Dodge to incorporate it into their general marketing & they have. Well done!

To play Devils advocate - could be the beginning of where they go with it. To me it was a more of "wtf was that" by the guys portraying the brothers dodge. More of a "first of many" - hopefully.

But, quite a departure of the last 2 years, the viper is front and center in a commercial.

Chrysler has an advertising agency that gets it.

If the powers to be at Dodge didn't cut Tators loose they could have incorporated the nostolgia of his place into the ad. IMO it would be very reflective of business longevity and pride.

I completely agree with this. There are so many people that ask me when was the last year for the Viper.

The public needs to be spoon fed info, to an extent, about the Viper. A millisecond of the Viper name on the bumper as it passes by would be enough to get the point across that the car is in production and to stir emotion. The attitude of "if they don't know what it is by now..." has not done the car any favors as of late. Sorry Randall but that is not the correct direction for 2015 if you want to see the Viper nameplate live on. To the Joe and Janes of the world the red car in the commercial could be mistaken for a Corvette or Corvette type sport car, I bet most of the Joe and Janes out there can associate what a Hellcat is. With some correct and wisely timed advertising the buzz for the Viper can and will be created and Joe and Jane will know what a Viper is.

Loved the ad for its intended purpose of selling Chargers and Challengers.

I like the Viper cameo, but it seems intended as an amusement rather than a Viper exhibition. Think of what it could've been with just one more camera angle, three seconds of V10 soundtrack, and the blue TA 2.0.

At the end, the Dodge boys spin their 180's... and take off to run down that red car. Everything I read/hear/see these days just seems to point to a strategy that buries SRT quickly away in an effort to make only "Dodge" synonymous with "Performance". I think it's a huge mistake, and if that's truly their intent they will be wasting every penny ever spent on SRT marketing.

Folks, it's not a Viper commercial. It's a Charger/Challenger commercial. If you think all of a sudden you are going to see a full one minute Viper commercial on Super Bowl Day, forget it. Never going to happen.

This was a great commercial. If they weren't thinking about the Viper, they never would have put it in the commercial in the first place. Give them a break, and give them some time.....

Definitely a step in the right direction.

The only thing I would change is when the two flip around 180 the Viper should have been seen directly in front of them driving off into the distance. Otherwise great commercial.
