2015 Texas Viper Round up & All Viper AutoX is coming to Houston! March 20-22

Mark your calenders folks, this one is going to be worth attending! We are bringing the Texas Viper Round up to Houston in March of 2015!

When: Noon Friday March 20, 2015 - Sunday March 22, 2015

All Viper, Private Autocross
Back roads National Forest Run
Private Dinner Boat Cruise on Lake Conroe
Dinner on the water at Papa's
Tech session or Dyno day to finish things up.

The Hotel, Papa's, and Autocross are all finalized. I am waiting on final dinner $$$ for the Lake Dinner Cruise. So go ahead and save the dates!

I will be updating this thread with details as it gets a little closer.

Friday March 20th:

Mid afternoon arrival at Latorretta Lake Resort on Lake Conroe (roughly 60 miles north of Houston).

We will head out on one of our back road Forest runs. We have some great roads out in the country for stretching your Vipers legs!



Following our back roads cruise we'll come back to the Hotel and then have a casual dinner at one of the Houston Viper Club's favorite Lake front Hangouts.

Saturday March 21st! The real Fun Day :D

We have secured a private Vipers only higher speed Autocross, for 15$ a car, put on and run by the Texas A&M Sports Car Club. I have been to many events put on by this group and they are fantastic. I will design the course with them based on the setups we have run there in the past that are fun for Vipers. Tons of parking, and located on a shuttered air base so nothing to damage your car should you spin. Haven't decided yet if this is going to be a fun run type of event or if we will have classes so people can compete for bragging rights, will probably end up being a little of both. We will have timing equipment and loaner helmets.

For lunch we will most likely have a food truck come out track side. This will be the main event of the day and will take up most of our time.

Dinner: Southern Empress Dinner Cruise on lake Conroe

We are working out the details now but we are going to do a private 3 hour dinner cruise on Lake Conroe aboard the Southern Empress

Sunday March 22nd:

This is typically a half day of events for the roundup so that people can get back home. We are still trying to decide exactly what we want to fill that with, most likely a Dyno day, Another back roads cruise, or a Tech Day out at Tomball Dodge.

She told me that today which is cool. She follows racing tweets all the time with drivers etc. I called Connie in res today and she is very helpful but as of now she does not show the group rate in the system. She will call me as soon as she does to secure a room. This will be awesome and should I say a very short drive for you to get there!!! I use to live on a big boat at that marina in back some 20 years ago. Great hotel.

Ok sorry about that, I just emailed the Hotel to be prepared for people to start calling in. We locked in the rooms this morning so it might not have made it over to the reservation desk just yet.

Yes very short commute for me haha. I thought it would be a nice central location between Houston, College Station, and the great driving roads out here.

Tony? You mean Nineball? Richard (Pres), Anthony (Vice Pres), Beth (Secretary), and myself had been talking about putting this this together for awhile. As with most things in life sometime you have to just take the leap and go for it. I put everything together, we all discussed it, and then off to the races.

Haha good thing is that there will be a lift about a mile from the hotel just in case we need it lol. My folks offered to bring their boat over to the hotel incase we wanted to head out on the water in the evening. Actually their next door neighbor Jeff who is also in the Houston Viper Club could bring his boat over as well. I'll give him a call haha.
