    Clear bra on rocker panels?

Has anyone applied clear bra to the side skirts/rocker panels on their gen 5? Not sure if they're as hot as the gen3/4 rockers were so wanted to ask before having this done. Last thing I want is for it to melt away after it heats up. Any info would be great! Thank you

My sills have been hot enough to roast the girly journalist types that complain about that sort of thing, but the Suntek is a trooper...under sills included.

I have had "ventureshield" on my sills since 2007. It still looks the same as the day I put it on.

+whole hood; under rocker panels; behind front wheels; wheel well edges; and bumper vertical edge to the outside of my stripes--this is a single piece on each side from behind the rear wheels. Mine is Nano-Fusion which is supposed to be > Expel Ultimate or whatever that is called.

NOTE: you will want to keep in touch with your installer shortly after the install to have him fine tune/replace any areas that rise up--like little triangles.

I don't see the need for doing the whole hood but I am doing the front part of the hood:

Those of you who did the whole hood how did your installer do it? I used Xpel on my LE and we had to just do a half hood because they didnt make a sheet of film big enough? I think we are going to redo the hood and use the stripe line as a breaking point.

I have front bumper, mirrors, full rockers, 1/2 hood, and rear bumper done.

Bingo! The outer edges of the stripes hide the breaking point. My GTS hood is covered with 3 pieces.

I was going to have Detailing Dynamics do it but they're backed up 3 weeks. My buddy Joe (can't think of the business name) who does all the cars for FMLI and Lambo Long Island (did my Gallardo too) is going to do it all for me. Awesome work and great pricing too!

The front 1/3 of my hood takes as much of a beating as the front bumper, based on marks in the film. That's as far as my film goes, and I also do get bug and road debris marks beyond that so full hood coverage isn't a bad idea at all. Stretch marks in film around hood louvers show on my black car, but apparently don't usually on most colors.

Also did A pillars as Tony mentioned, and very worthwhile. It just let's you drive the car without worrying about what's constantly flying up or down at you.

I did everything Bruce H has done, and also did the front side of my rear spoiler and the front of my lower splitters as well. I remember my ACR taking a rock to the wicker bill once or twice.

Did the whole hood with Xpel. There is a line about a foot shy of the windshield. He used an Xpel sheet but even that wasn't wide enough to cover the whole hood. The joint line is visible but i would rather have the protection.

Definitely splitters, and that's a thought to do the rear spoiler. I plan to add some on the rear hatch below the spoiler where my hand lifts it after pushing the release button there. Seems a bit silly, but you can't drive the car 15 minutes without dirt plastering the entire rear...and then you grab it to open. If you've got two free hands you can lift by grabbing the splitter. I have more fine scratches there than anywhere else, and every one shows on a black car Time to clay bar.

Xpel installing mine right now . I have installed the rockers, mirros,a posts, roof, lower rears and the entire front. Got to say i know where the lines are but most will have to look very hard. After the rap is finished i will have it 3 step sealed. Should be completed this weekend.
