Why wait? If they release a S/C then the headers won't be anything that would hurt the build, plus a custom tune with them could even make more power...

Mark et al, when I get back home I will scan and post the dyno sheets. No secrets, just want to make sure I have a little time to collect my thoughts about the experience.. For those who may be interested, we ended up with almost a 60 hp gain in our dyno/tuning. And just a couple of initial thoughts and observations about the experience:

It was WELL worth it. I ended up going with the Belanger cat-back (already had the Belanger headers) and really like the sound of the exhaust. It may not be loud enough for some but it suits my taste perfectly.

From where we started (baseline w/ no tune), we were able to achieve a VERY impressive gain. Mark and his dyno-dude worked it like pros. Mark, you are the only guy besides me that will EVER take my V to 6500 rpm.. lol We could tell that Mark had done this more than just a time or two. I have some great video of some of the pulls and will send to Mark in the event that he wants to post on the Woodhouse Motorsports facebook pages.

Without getting into too much detail right now, I will say two things that I know some have wondered about... The 93 octane I do not believe made any positive difference. In fact, it was probably neutral if not a little negative. (higher octane, slower burn, etc..) The under drive pulley made more difference than I or I think even Mark may have thought. Mark and I may not be on the exact same page on that. lol

Overall, it was not only a positive experience (read: fun), but it was also WAY worth it in terms of power gain for the buck. I would recommend the HPTuners package and especially Mark's tuning capabilities with it to anyone with a V and particularly one with mods.. (headers, UD pulley, etc...)

Thanks Hog Whisperer, as I just need to sell them, but Mark and his crew are so conscientious it really makes for a great experience for those that want to take their new ( or used ) Snake to another level. I know we all here at Woodhouse are appreciative of you driving up to see us, and nice to see you have not just had a great experience, it has been fun for you and your wife also!!

I might take you up on that. I work about 3.5 hours from you guys so I may come down one day to get it all done. I don't think I would I would do the under drive pulley. What are the downside to this? I feel like there has to be. How much do you get with headers with full exhaust and tune?

Man great write up! 60rwhp from a simple exhaust swap. I can't wait to get my parts installed and tuned.

I made 556 SAE with an under drive pulley, and I am pulley the cats on my setup. I am tunning on a different dyno than where I did my baseline though so I will have to go back to that dyno and make another pull to compare once we are all done. If I see 60rwhp and get to 616 SAE I would be PUMPED.

I will be doing a tune / Headers on my 15 when it arrives. Im curious as to if the Bellanger catback , or Corsa catback is going to be louder ? Does anyone have some feedback ?

There are a couple flavors for corsa. I have the louder version with Balengers. My guess is 50% of the G5 owners would think it is the perfect set up, the other 50% would say they are too loud.

Corsa is definitely louder and has a sharper tone. The Belanger is not as loud and a deeper (lower) tone.

edit: Woops. Meant to quote BOOSTED

WMD installed Bel headers and HF cats, through stock exhaust on my ride, back at the time it was thought that it would increase HP etc.

Had Corsa cat back (no headers) on previous G4 and it was droned, monotonous, boring and annoying loud.

The G5 stock exhaust sound is a big improve over G4...and the Headers add a distinctive rumble over stock. When gradually upping to 2500 rpm, then poping the accelerator, the thunderous crack is sharp, very powerful and seriously attention grabbing. Gotta wait for a tune to take full advantage...and of course a red steering wheel to further hit on my mirrors, and added contrast to the dismal black dash :-)

Without PCM release or open tuning don't know how that is happening. Guess the lawyers gave in if this is the case. There have been finished options ready for well over a year, but they and Mopar have been sitting on it...
