Anyone know what this strange funnel is for??

It came in the plactic pack with car fobs. There is no mention of it in the manual.

It's purpose is to be used with a gas can in case you ever needed to fill up from a 5 gallon can (race gas - or run out). Cars equipped with the cap less tank use this to open the flapper valve sealing the fuel fill neck.

I have the same thing in my Charger. The reason for it is the flapper door on a gas cap will not open. I tried many things to get Stabil in my car and could not get it to open. That funnel pops it right open.

Love the new capless system. They have them on many of the new cars now. I have it on the 14 Jeep SRT too.

Big key, is even if you use a fuel octane boost, Stabil, or similar product and it has an extention , do not force this in, as it could damage the door. Common problem with vehicles that are capless, and the white emergency funnel works fantastic , whereas other extentions that even appear to be designed for this type of gas fill are notorious for breaking the mechanism.
