Paint Imperfections / Blemishes - Anyone else have any?

Hi Guys - Just a quick question, do any of your Vipers have paint blemishes? My red one looks like it has a couple issues with he clear, and the red paint bleeds through the black stripes in certain areas. My blue one has some issues with the clear as well.

GEN V paint jobs are very high quality and inspected thoroughly. i would take it back to the dealership to have it looked at. Prefix Coatings does an outstanding job of painting cars.

Mine came as close to "humanly" PERFECT as possible, no complaints here.

Same here. I'm astounded by the paint quality on this GenV. It makes the imperfections in my GenII's paint stick it out much more now.

I have that type of situation on my red one, its throughout the stripe in various places, been there since day one, I've overlooked it, but curiosity makes me wonder if other people have the same issues.

That is bizarre - they paint the stripes first so no sure how there could be bleed through

Stripes laid down first, sanded, then taped off. then main color applies everywhere else

He is correct, they paint the stripes, actually the stripe color over the middle of the car first, then the paint the primary color after. So, not possible for the red to "bleed through" the black because their is no red underneath the black, but could be overspray I guess.

I should note that my LE paint is virtually perfect. had to do a minor (extremely minor in that only I could see it) polishing on one section of the roof, but flawless everywhere else.

They should know they spend more time looking at their cars, and washing / waxing than driving their cars. They should be paint experts.

have you tried buffing it out to see if it is on the surface rather than below?

Take the car to the Dealer--this should be a warranty issue.

My Race Yellow GTS had one of the hood vents in crooked and slight paint on the rear bumper brake duct exit. These issues were promptly fixed under warranty. I also have a few very small black dots in the yellow paint in a few places but it is so minor that I would not break the paint to remove them (below the clear coat). Overall, the car looks awesome! Panel gaps could be tighter, but really seem fine; there must be some gaps for movement, drainage, etc.

The car really looks fearsome and runs great. Thanks Dodge/SRT!

Good luck in resolving your "red" issue. It seems very strange.

No orange peel effect like 458 or c7 cars. Prefix does it right. The paint jobs really are really good.

Btw I also have some BMW's. 2004 has very high quality paint job, newer ones all have some orange peel. So I can't tell you enough how good the paint is on Vipers.

I'm not going to lie, its gorgeous, I mean I could just get over it and keep calling it a birth mark the last thing I'm going to let them do is have a dealer repaint it. LOL... Yeah okay
