    E-Brake Light Stays on

Took my baby to the track for the first last week, which was a blast. Attachment 6923Attachment 6924 Any who during my last run I noticed that my e-brake light was on. Checked the e-brake lever which was down all the way/disengaged. Well the light stayed on all the way home and is still on til this day. Any ideas?

Checked your fluid level? Some cars share the same light for both the e brake and brake reservoir.

Fluid level looks good, I'll probably change it anyway. I know on some cars if the e-light blinks it's a brake issue, solid it's the e-brake.

The brakes feel and work fine so maybe some debri off the track got caught up in the cable or switch..not sure, either way it seems to be an uncommon issue as I can't find any information on it and everyone I've talked to never heard of it.

Have a service manual? It breaks down that light specifically and its functions.

I do not.. All that came with my viper was a single key with the top of the snake head broken off...I've been slowly gathering all the missing stuff my car should have came with

Buy a pair off ebay. There is a 98 SM on the web floating around, but I'm not sure where at. I guess I could do some screen shots for ya.

For anyone reading this in the future. My fix: I rolled my car in reverse, put it in neutral and slowly pulled up on the e-brake until the car came to a stop (go slow, maybe 2-3 mph). This turned my e-brake light off. It must of gotten loose while tracking the car and needed tightening.

My '01 did this to me the other day too. Just stayed on randomly, but when I went to start it again later the light was gone. Hasn't come back since. I figured the car was just mad at me because it knows it's going into winter storage for another 6 months soon. lol
