Wire from top window to back of rearview mirror

I have a wire that runs from the top of front window to a plug in the rear of my rearview mirror. I have no idea what it is for. It is 94 soft top.

Your interior lights are in the bottom of the mirror. Power cord.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Gen 1-2 rear-view-mirror courtesy light buttons get 'hit' inadvertently. I bonk mine while reaching for the Valentine One, or even to adjust the mirror. The tiny button can turn ON without being noticed, and in the daylight you don't know its ON. And your passenger can bump it too...

And it DRAINS YOUR BATTERY IN A DAY OR TWO ! Un-Noticed.

I have had a LOT of Owners ask about 'fast battery drain' issues and that light being ON is a common culprit.....

Don: YOU NEED AN OWNERS MANUAL / Service Manual? / Owner VHS video?

Don, did an owner's manual come with your car? If not, that would be a useful document.
